Relief of Athena Nike

Among many other reliefs scattered throughout the city of Ephesus, one of the highlights is the Athena Nike. It was called this because Nike was the goddess of victory, especially military victory. The figure carries a crown of leaves in its left hand, the emblem of victory, and in its right hand it has a bouquet of flowers. It comes from the Roman period the city and was discovered in the ruins of the Domitian Square.
