Following the recommendations of minube I stumbled upon this place for tapas. The lovely food, very good service, normal price. The place could not be more central. Highly recommended. I would not mind coming back if I return to Santander.
During my last trip to Santander, we decided to go out for tapas and we discovered Casa Ajero, a great restaurant located in a tapas area near the Plaza de Cañadío. The restaurant’s building is over 100 years old and has a rustic brick and stone interior. There are lots of options on the menu but the best choices are the cured meats, shellfish, and garden-fresh vegetable dishes. The only downside is that the restaurant is very popular and there’s usually a wait.
The goat cheese with nuts, raisins, and caramelized onion is really good. The Spanish omelet is also an excellent choice. The prices are good. We went on a recommendation from a friend and weren’t disappointed.
