11 reviews of Royal Chapel of Granada

It preserves many treasures!!

Together with the Alhambra, the Royal Chapel is one of the most important monuments in the city of Granada, since it was the will of the Catholic monarchs themselves that their remains and their children's (Doña Juana, Don Felipe I, and Prince Miguel) be preserved there. On September 13th, 1504, the Kings Doña Isabel de Castilla and Don Fernando de Aragón took their decision, and the building of the gothic styled Royal Chapel started from the year 1505 until 1517, dedicated to saint John, the Baptist and the Evangelist. This Royal Chapel is connected to the Cathedral of Granada.
