Solola is a village in the municipality of the same name, known among tourists as the easiest access point to the beautiful Lake Atitlan. From the city of Antigua or the capital, you can take a van until Los Encuentros (the trucks will continue to Quetzaltenango, Santa Cruz del Quiché and the Mexican border), then there are trucks that go to Solola. In Solola, you start to get beautiful panoramic views of Lake Atitlan. But to visit the villages, you have to go down to Panajachel and take a boat to different coastal towns. Buses depart from these villages, but pass by every community to pick up every peasant and their chickens, and it takes a lot of people.
