Worth a visit
Abydos temple is next to Abu Simbel temple, the best temple in Egypt. We took a taxi from Luxor, though it took us 3 or 4 hours to get there. Despite the distance, it really is worth it, as its state of conservation is strikingly good. When you get here, you'll find yourself practically alone, so you can admire the amazing columns in peace. In one of the rooms, we took a great picture, taking advantage of a ray of sunlight that penetrated the darkness of the temple.
