Discovering Costa Rican coffee
For many, it's surprising to learn that Costa Rica has such amazing coffee, especially that grown in volcanic soils and favorable climate of the Valle Central. Strawberries and sugar cane are also grown in the Valle Central, but the game changer has coffee. It's been one of the pillars of Costa Rica's economic growth and Costa Rica has been steadily stealing market share from Jamaica after planting vast coffee plantations.
So, if you're at all interested in Costa Rican coffee, you need to stop by this Hacienda to learn about the full process. The Hacienda is huge so you only visit a small section where they explain the entire process of harvesting, cleaning, and roasting. Of course, you can sample all kinds of brews along the way. The Peaberry was my favorite, so don't miss it!
