Nuestra Tierra Restaurant is the epitome of tropical restaurants. With large windows, high ceilings, wooden interiors and traditional decor, everything in it reminds you of exactly where you are. The food, by the way, is excellent. On our first night in the country we ordered a mixed grill and seafood and I think it actually helped us get over our jet lag! The waiters were very friendly and helped us our dishes. Its also just a 5 minutes' walk from the center of San José, in front of Plaza de la Democracia, so it's in a good area for an after dinner stoll.
Visiting the Central Market of San Jose is an experience - so much so that you'll probably need a guide to navigate its labyrinthine of corridors. It's there where you'll find La Sorbetera de Lolo Mora, a traditional sorbet stand whose famous recipe has remained unchanged for over a century. The sorbet has a unique vanilla and cinnamon flavor and is unusual for not containing any water. Absolutely delicious.
This is a tourist resort that is located in Santa Gertrudis, in Greece Canton, on a road that connects the canton with Poás. It is a place to try typical Costa Rican food, with pools, a large ballroom with Costa Rican details like the oxcart. The main attraction is the old mill building which squeezed sugar cane and by heating it in steel pans it became molasses which was used to make the "tapa de dulce". This is actually Raw sugar and was used to make fresh water or to sweeten coffee among other things. In addition this honey, when plunged into boiling water, makes a type of caramel which is added to other things like vanilla essence or nuts and after kneading it becomes a marshmallow or a "sobao". The honey is also poured into molds and harden and you get the sweet cap, which is widely distributed for typical sweet water.
After what the colleague said, there was not a lot to say, apart from that the cocktails in the area of the bar are tasty. The area of the bar is of the plane, where the door is until the street and the restaurant is on the ramp of cargo. We also had a great dinner with pretty views of the ocean. I´ll put up more photos.
The restaurant is said to be one of the most glamorous establishments in the area. Its services are shared with users of the nearby Casitas Eclipse Hotel. They say it is expensive, but that it has an excellent quality. I went, and my experience was good, in low season it offers great discounts, there are hardly any people and it has very friendly service. Yes it is considered one of the places of "atmosphere" in the area, I can not comment on this opinion, because I have not lived its heyday. I can point out that it is outdoors, it has a pool ...... and jungle views, totally stunning, it is a pleasure to enjoy a good meal in a wonderful setting, in full nature!
Restaurante Ave 2 is located in the heart of San Jose and has balconies which open onto the street so you can watch the city life passing by as you enjoy your meal. Really good drinks menu ranging from Micheladas to Aguadulce con Leche.
The Barba Roja restaurant is on the main road in Quepos to Manuel Antonio, when you get to the town centre on the road to the right 500 yards from the football field, you will see it but do not hesitate to ask. It is popular with Ticos and they have the best sunset of all there. The food is a mix of different cuisines and influences - one might call it international cuisine. There is a happy hour for beer until 18:00 every day. Perhaps the video quality isn't too good but I hope to post it.
This open air restaurant is located in the heart of Manuel Antonio town center. It is a very lively restaurant and bar which serves all differing kinds of food and drink. It is a place to enjoy views of the beach, the Pacific Ocean and the place to stop after a tour of the park. Its prices are the same as other places in the area and the service is pleasant, as it is in all of Costa Rica. My recommendation would be not to go to this area in high season, as it is one of the most inhabited places on the planet during that time.
If you would like to eat like an Italian mom, Luigi Salvatore, an Italian who has lived almost 15 years in Costa Rica, you will eat better here than in any restaurant in Italy. The place is a deli with 2 tables. You can buy products imported from Italy or you eat some delicious dishes that are cheap. Italian wine. Not that Luigi is the joy of the garden but its great to see him prepare the dishes, because the place is very small and it doesn´t have more than 2 tables. The photo is taken by a canadian in the other seat.

Exploring the La Fortuna we found this restaurant with a little research on the internet and we realized that many people speak highly of it, and the truth is that we did not leave disappointed. Excellent service, from the moment we entered the premises, to the presentation and taste of the dishes. So much so, that our drinks are prepared as "frozen" because the temperature was strong! I recommend the Volcano Pizza for sure.

The Sea Food Restaurant is in Playas del Coco, and its specialty is shellfish. This restaurant has excellent food and superb service. They serve local seafood that has been fished right here, which is nice because on the second floor there's a balcony where you can enjoy the sea breeze and festive atmosphere that the population of Coco has. This restaurant is visited by people from all over the world. The restaurant's service is great and they serve lobster, crab and fish, as well as coteles shrimp and prawns on the menu.
The cozy atmosphere, the combination of natural and artificial lighting, the quality and variety of food, and the the great service from all the members of staff, including the owner of the establishment itself. I must recommend this cafe restaurant place to all my friends. The breakfasts are particularly worth mentioning. They are served with a delicious fruit smoothie. They themselves make the pastry, and it is served with good coffee, either regular or "special" (there are also specialty coffee, 7 types), you can sit on the couch in the corner, just chatting, or checking your emails. There are salads, sandwiches, arepas (a typical Venezuelan dish), and empanadas (Argentine and Venezuelan), and surely the chef will surprise you with a special creation of the day (I tried the Mango Bavarois). As its name implies, the whole place is based on the number 7: The wonders of the world, the 7 deadly sins, 7 colors, etc..
Situated very close to the road to Monteverde by santa helena park, at approximately 3 km you will find this restaurant that also has a workshop for preparing chocolates of all types and flavors. In the building's spectacular there is a screening room and an art gallery with both paintings and sculptures on display. There is a terrace with a view you will not forget. I recommend it, it has an average price, international Cuisine. Aaaaaaah chocoholics must not miss this place! Greetings
This restaurant is in the middle of nowhere, and will allow you to have a typical Spanish meal of Spanish paella, tortilla chips, seafood and meats, with some dishes in monteverde ticosaparte you can enjoy many activities on site and in sant aelena from horseback riding, see the frog pond, canopy, excursions to the natural park
On the Panamerican Highway going through the city of Cañas Guanacaste, 5 km later you'll find the entrance to the Hacienda La Pacifica. The property is over a century old, and the owners have changed the use of the building somewhat, with a special part dedicated to the preservation of flora and fauna native to the area. This accommodation is located near some of the most famous and visited national parks, ecological reserves, volcanoes and other tourist attractions such as Palo Verde, Rio Celeste, Rincon de la Vieja and Santa Rosa National Park. Also Arenal Volcano and Lake, Lake Cote, Lomas de Barbudal Reserve, Puntarenas and Puerto and Wetlands City of Black Spout. There is a restaurant located in a colonial building, that has been renovated to preserve its beauty, that is sure to satisfy visitors tastes, due to the quality of the food and the scenery surrounding the restaurant. Part of the Hotel is nestled within the forest, so you can enjoy and relax here, great for people who like adventure and eco-tourism. This estate is crossed by the Rio Corobicí which is a favourite of tourists who want to have a go at rafting.
