Two Terreiro Evangelists

Taking the path on the left side of the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus (just behind the hotel) you get to this place, which is the end of Via Sacra. Here there are 3 octagonal chapels, built in the eighteenth century by André Soares, which depict scenes after the Crucifixion. On the square's perimeter there are 4 Baroque fountains crowned with statues of the Evangelists (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) with inscriptions of these gospels, in the center there's also a fountain.
