Must-see attraction in Dresden

Zwinger Palace is one of the must-see attractions in the city of Dresden. It stands in the old town, between the Semperoper opera house and Postplatz, and was built on the site of an old fortress. I highly recommend getting up early so that you can walk around the yard before the crowds descend and enjoy it in a rare moment of absolute silence. The door of the crown (Kronentor), is the most famous and photographed part of the structure, decorated with a reproduction of the Polish royal crown. After buying a ticket, you can visit the collections of art and science inside.

Stunning baroque

Dresden is one of those places I visited when I risked changing my route in that direction on my trip to Prague. It's hard to explain the satisfaction you get when you get these things right. Dresden is, for me and I have lived 2 years in Germany, the most beautiful German city, not the richest (Munich), or the most interesting (Berlin), but the most delicately beautiful. It's a baroque masterpiece and as one of its exponents I leave this snapshot of the Zwinger Gallery, threatened by the blackness of an impending storm.

What I got to see was very beautiful.

Excellent

Although I didn't get to go inside.

Zwinger Palace

The Zwinger Palace in Dresden is a baroque-style building in the old part of town, between the Semperoper opera house and the museum. Some of the highlights in the museum are its collections of arts and sciences. The palace was built on the site formerly occupied a strength, and hence the name used to describe the circular outer wall was part of the fortress.

Such a beautiful place

Excellent

I actually liked it better than Berlin
