If you have the opportunity to go to Niteroi, you must go to this Restaurant. It offers excellent meats. I ate frog there! The service is spectacular. There is a large salad bar and very good desserts, all served in a great atmosphere. As seen in the photo, the waiters pass the pieces of meat with skewers, and approach your table if you are above a green indication which says "I do". They serve you a portion or the ones you want, and you pay a fee not the total of what you eat. Bon Apetit!
The "Fogo de Chao" is the perfect place to appreciate the true "gaucho" style of meat in Rio de Janeiro. Combining a sophisticated and welcoming environment, the restaurant lets its clients come together for leisure and business in the same location. You are offered a selection of the best meat, 16 slices accompanied by a varied buffet of salads and a selection of the best wines in the world. I can´t forget the marvelous views of the beach of Botafogo and Pao de Acucar.
Garota de Ipanema is one of the restaurants / bars of Rio de Janeiro that are well-known and one of the most visited. It owes its fame to the fact that it is dedicated to Vinicius de Moraes, the author of the famous song "The Girl from Ipanema". It can be found at an intersection, one of which is named after "Vinicius de Moraes" and is in the neighborhood of Ipanema. Ipanema is one of the safest and most tranquil neighborhoods of Rio, so you can walk around during the day and night. Sometimes there is live music but do not worry because there's always something similar in the street such as musicians, Capoeira dancers, etc. The décor is very nice and there is a big wall. The prices are affordable but not exactly cheap. But remember that you are in Rio de Janeiro. It´s worth visiting.
This restaurant is outside of the city's tourist circuit, but it's worth taking a taxi to get there. The menu offers all the flavours of a Brazilian kitchen - really good feijoada, ribs, shrimp with pumpkin, and other delicacies. The prices are a little high, but many of the dishes are enough for two, three, or even four people, depending on how hungry you are. The restaurant has a dining room and a patio, where you can sit if it's not too hot.
Belmonte is famous for its beer and pies, and is known one of the best bars in the city of Rio de Janeiro. It is worth mentioning that their sandwiches are really delicious. It's not too expensive, either. For me, the juices they offer are perfect for accompanying the food (I don't drink beer), and they also serve a good fruit caipirinha. If you drink, do not drive. Try the delicious shrimp cakes, too! Some say that the burgers here are the best in Rio de Janeiro; I don't know how true that is, but they're definitely worth a try. A perfect spot for the summer.
This network of shops is one of those places where people go after visiting the beach, to have a meal or just a snack. The atmosphere is great, and they offer a wide range of meals: pancakes, sandwiches, salads, and juices. It has 11 locations distributed in several areas: South Zone, Barra, Northern Zone and Niterói. It is worth a try!
The Casa da Feijoada is one of those places that attracts foreigners and locals. It has a lovely atmosphere and delicious food. There are options available for those who don't want to try this very traditional Brazilian dish. The feijoada costs about US $ 62.50, with plenty of accompaniments, and you can choose what goes in with the beans (ideal for anyone who doesn't like things like pig's ears). The dessert is also to feast for your eyes with delicious caramel, guava jelly, jam, and other sweets.
Wow, I really like eating here. The food is cheap and tasty, with kofta and stuffed peppers. You can order a half-portion if you're not feeling hungry. You'll find it at the Largo do Machado subway station: just turn left as you leave, and you'll find it.
Shortly after arriving in Rio, my friend Javier decided to eat at a nice little bar where the food is made from seafood from the Manda Sea. In this restaurant, people buy their food there and then sit on the waterfront and eat it. When I was there, there was a large group of cyclists that made a beer and snack stop after a ton of physical activity. I'm honestly not sure of how the prices are because my friend, like any good host, paid the bill. It's a little hideaway that you have to visit, there aren't many tourists there, so you can chat with locals, which makes the place extra special.
La Boucherie restaurant, run by the famous chef Claude Troisgo and his children, Caroline and Thomas, specialises in meat. There's rump steak, fiorentina steak, prime rib, delicious lamb chops, filet mignon ... they're served with a selection of sauces (poivre, bearnaise, chimichurri, etc), baked plantain, crunchy and crispy potatoes, and some special accompaniments. There is nothing like the delicious gratin dishes with rice and nuts, roasted tomatoes, apple puree, mashed potatoes, rice, quinoa ... I would go back just to try the side dishes! If you go to the restaurant on a weekday lunchtime (you'll need to be patient - it's always full), you can pay $ 42 for the executive lunch, with a choice of meat or fish, and all the sides..
A big house, a garden, a pool, and a playground for the children, all surrounded by lots of vegetation. This is the scenario that greets you as you approach this site, run by chef Augosto Bomfim, where you can enjoy a very regional menu. The prices can be scary at first, but they offer dishes that can serve up to four people. The menu is full of good, delicious food, with lots of meat and fish dishes. It's a bit far from downtown Rio de Janeiro, so most tourists don't go there, but it's worth the trip.
I send a photo from the beaches of Paraty in Rio de Janeiro, fabulous in hot Brazil from the restaurant Obrigado. As you can see, an excellent view of the beach. Wonderful place to visit for its sandy beaches and fabulous waters. A great beach!
The Forneria has a very pleasant atmosphere, and opens directly onto the street. It serves classic Italian cuisine, with pasta, pizza, and risotto. The desserts are made in a bakery on the second floor, and are also very tasty. Prices for main courses range between R$38 and R$60. Pasta with ricotta and spinach leaves $38, a risotto with parmesan and meat ragu $46, pizza with buffalo mozzarella and basil R$42.
