Where to stay in Rio de Janeiro

    Hotels in Angra dos Reis
    Pestana Angra dos Reis hotel
Angra dos Reis is a city Litorânea located in the State of Rio de Janeiro, 151 km from Rio. The best form of entertainment is boating around the islands. There are many choices of companies that make these trips, but they all go to the same islands. On each island, the boat makes a 30 minutes stop 30, so you can learn more about each corner and to scuba dive since the sea in this area is highly crystalline and clean.

    Portobello Hotel
A few years ago I came to this resort in a prime spot right on the beach in Angra dos Reis. There are 144 rooms, each with AC, telephone, TV., Mini bar room service. It's a great hotel but it's a few years old, but the important thing is that it has a private beach where you can play water sports. There's a restaurant with a great buffet. It has a sauna, outdoor pool, tennis court, fitness center, parking, etc..

    Brava Hotel
Imagine a minimalist building, decorated in a sophisticated way, but without falling into luxuries or extravagances. Imagine white rooms that are big with huge and very comfortable beds, a large terrace with a bar with views of the ocean, a pool that also overlooks the ocean, Brazilian music playing like a whisper and great service from each of the people who make up the staff Hotel. This paradise called Brava Hotel and is on Praia Brava, one of the most spectacular places in Buzios.

The restaurant is on an international level and the breakfast buffet is of very high quality, good taste, good attention.

    Posada Bem Natural
The name says everything. It´s a naturally good inn. There is camping and the owner Nice is a lovely woman who cooks great meals and bends over backward for her customers. We arrived after a full day of hiking in the rain and Nice greeted with a delicious cacui juice which is one of the many tropical fruits that I discovered in Brazil. It has a very distinctive taste but I liked it a lot. For dinner we had lula (squid) with pasta was glorious. The kitchen has a wooden stove and the food products are organic. Modernity has arrived to this place in the form of Wi-Fi and a sauna. Nice, like many people who live in Ilha Grande, decided to escape the big city and live in the island in a more natural way (hence the name of the inn).

    Angra dos Reis Boutique Hotel
We liked everything: the location, the facilities and especially the staff. The owners of the hotel (Ernesto and Evelina) are lovely. One morning we even went for a ride on Ernest's boat around the bay islands. The rooms are very comfortable and the breakfast had a great spread. There is also a restaurant where we ate delicious local dishes. An ideal place to spend a few days to relax and disconnect.

    Aeroporto Othon hotel
I stayed in this hotel for a few days. Brilliant! It has a great location for a cultural holiday, near the MAM, the Museum of Fine Arts, Cinelandia and the airport. It cost $10 for a taxi between the hotel and the airport in 2012. It's peaceful with good service. Reasonable breakfast. There are metro and bus stops nearby.

    Orla Copacabana Hotel
I arrived in Rio de Janeiro planning to spend five days and four nights. I stayed at the Hotel Orla Copacabana, which is a four-star hotel but seems more like a five-star. The continental breakfast, with juice, fruit, tea, coffee and milk is great. I saw the highlights of the town on a city tour, seeing all the famous spots like the Maracana Stadium, Sugar Loaf Mountain, the Sambadrome etc ... and I swam at night on Copacabana beach, where I could appreciate the warmth of the Atlantic Ocean. This hotel has a great location opposite the beach, and comfortable rooms.

    Z.bra Hostel
Z.bra Hotel was opened in December 2010, and has been attracting a lot of people, not only for its colours and modern design, but for its lively bar / lounge. The hotel has always impressed me with its creative solutions: just to cite one example, the beds are inspired by the famous Japanese capsules, so you have privacy and a space to plug in your devices. The bar is decorated with 1950's furniture. It's open from 4 to 11, and often hosts artistic exhibitions. You can enjoy free breakfast each morning, Wi-fi, computers with high-speed internet, dryer, safe, and more.

    Cama E Café Flats
This B&B organization is based out of the Santa Teresa neighbourhood in Rio de Janeiro. I had a fantastic, comfortable, fun and cheap experience, including cultural attractions. How does it work? According to your needs, Cama e Café family homes recommends a family for you to stay with, in a private room with breakfast. Taking advantage of the wonderful architecture of Santa Teresa, it has found a way to collaborate with the locals of the neighbourhood, allowing you to interact with local people, and stay in a beautiful place. The houses are usually amazing. I was fortunate to stay at 'Casa da Manoela' with a journalist and charming tour guide. It was so interesting to hear her talk about Rio that our breakfast (delicious and hearty) stretched until noon. Like almost all of Santa Teresa, the exterior goes unnoticed. Its interior, however, is like a fine art gallery. In short, there was a room with a panoramic views, a welcoming home, a lovely Rio local, and all at an amazingly cheap price.

Can anyone tell me the price of the rooms? I looked at the website and it doesn´t say anything about it. I would be very grateful if you could give me that information. I will travel with my mom, so we need a double. Thanks in advance!

The Lemon Spirit Hostel is a great option if you're looking for cheap accommodation in Rio de Janeiro. The location is great, just one block away from the famous Leblon beach, and close to bars, restaurants, shops, supermarkets, and ATMs. You can stay in a 6-bed dorm for $55; the room was very large, with enough space to leave your bag or backpack in the drawer under the bed. Casa Beludi
If I had to describe the Beludi House in one world, it would be "intimate". The breakfast isn't great, and it's located a few metres away from Christ the Redeemer, in a beautiful mansion at the end of a quiet street. Isabel and Adir will do anything to make you feel at home. The bright decor is a strong point, harmonious and welcoming. It has both private and shared rooms available, all very clean, tidy, and comfortable. There's a common kitchen, laundry area, balcony and two reception rooms. At the back it's all green with a beautiful waterfall, making it a unique place to stay in Rio.

Golden Park Hotel Rio de Janeiro
I recommend this hotel. My parents always stay here when they're in town. It has parking, and is in a very nice neighbourhood, La Gloria. It's cozy, with a tasty cafe in the morning. Good, friendly service, and close to several tourist attractions. There are a few theatres nearby, and it's close to the airport, accessible by the subway.
