If yoy travel to Tallinn do not liss the opportunity to eat like in the medieval times. You will not find artificial light anywhere in the property, nor anything artificial in the services. Everything is illuminated by candles, the waiters are dressed in period clothing and of course the cups, plates and other accompanying atmosphere. Worth its tasting menu.
A very authentic, albeit a bit touristy, place with a young atmosphere. The menu is prepared for visitors in a variety of European languages. They sell a wide selection of European beers, as well as typical Russian-Estonian food. Large portions for a good price. I'd go back again without any hesitation.
It's easy to find if you're strolling through the center. It's a big place with a young atmosphere. Sweet and savory crepes with a considerable size for only 3-4 €. There are many beers to choose from and the service is very fast. Excellent place, highly recommended.
Country-style Estonian food in Tallinn. The first thing that caught my attention as he passed the bar were the window planters for flowers shaped like pink pigs! We're big fans of pork and, since that's what most of the menu is, we went in and ate. The place has a very accomplished Estonian rural style, keeping in mind that the city is pretty touristy, and the restaurant's design, décor, tables, and the uniforms of the waiters all fit the mold. Oh, and the dishes ... Good Lord, so much meat! You eat a lot! The price isn't very expensive, nor is it dirt cheap, but that's okay. Tallinn has a lot of restaurants, but if you like pork, I'd recommend this place 100%.
After long walks in Tallinn, we decided to take a break and have a drink in a little cafe we found near the main square of the medieval town. We stumbled across this place accidently, and the truth is that it was great. The tables placed around the room, the décor, every corner was clean, and of course, there were scrumptious treats and cakes. We opted for a special yogourt pie with berries, delicious! Thoroughly recommend it, because the area is beautiful and the people are very friendly here and throughout the city. Loved it!
If you're tired of the drab medieval plates and you want a place with simple, well-cooked dishes made with good ingredients, then Von Krahli is a good choice. It has a small menu, but is well-priced at €3 for moose soup, 12€ for duck (well-cooked), 330ml of cider for 2.5 €. The place is very nice and classic, with rustic furnishings and warm lighting. The staff are very helpful and speak English. It has Wi-Fi. Despite most clients being tourists, I didn't have the feeling I got when I went to the medieval restaurants. Recommended.
Café located in Vene Street, very central. Great cappuccino and delicious cakes to start the day and recharge your batteries surrounded by classic décor and very welcoming! If you want something new and strong to start the day, typical Estonian coffee is recommended. Look out, it has alcohol.
Between Freedom Square and Charles XI's Church, you'll find Mosaik coffee. It's a cafe with good coffee at a good price (2€ for a cappuccino) and free wi-fi. The background music is good and the staff is very pleasant. A moment to get your strength back and upload your experience to minube! :o)
