It is highly recommended for many reasons, we ordered a dinner that consisted of Italian cheeses and meats with very good bread, nuts, honey and jam, and Brut, and everything was delicious. The price was of the cheapest during our stay in Italy and Switzerland, and the place was modern, and had a great atmosphere. So if you have the opportunity to visit Bergamo, a city great, do not forget to have dinner here.
Located in the high town not far from Piazza Vecchia, l'Agnello D'Oro is one of the most charming restaurants in Bergamo. It'ss in a piazza in front of a church and a fountain and the building which called our attention most was this one, a small hotel. I had seen this restaurant on the internet before we went and I loved how it looked and, once we arrived, I took a look at the menu and it seemed like one of the better ones around. It was the most expensive, and could find cheaper options elsewhere, but its interior was completely different from all the others. In the end, we decided to eat there. We ordered risotto and casonsèi della Bergamo (both really good!), a tasting platter of cheeses, water, and bread for 2 people: 50 €.
Il Fornaio is one of the busiest places in the city! It is incredible! It is a pastry-pizzeria where they have pizzas sold by piece and by weight, and you can eat it standing or on a table (if there is room, which is quite difficult. You can also eat outside but sometimes it´s quite cold, so we chose to eat indoors). Each piece costs more or less 5 €, but the variety is huge and they make pizzas in their oven. They are so good looking from out the window that people throng just to see the pizzas only. And to say they are very good! Delicious, plump and the pieces are square and quite large, so I promise you will not get hungry.
Typical Italian restaurant with a terrace covered with vines and plants. The pizzas are very good and the individual-sized ones are perfect. Also, it's a great deal:drink + 1 Plate (pasta or pizza) + dessert (fruit, that day) for 10 €.
A great little restaurant in Bergamo, in the square where the cable car departs. The atmosphere is rustic but very nice, with wooden tables and stone walls. The decor is refined, and the staff are really courteous. They'll make you feel at home and will explain all the dishes; most have local names and therefore require a translation. The rice cooked in the local wine is a delicacy. Try the polenta taragna (ie with cheese). It is impossible not to wash it all down with a good wine. The prices are average by most restaurant standards, but worth it for the quality of food and the care with which they prepare the dishes.
Located in the heart of Bergamo, and more precisely in the Old Town Square, this cafe sells delicious pastries and ice creams. Just walking the streets, smelling the delicious aromas of freshly baked pastries, is enough to get your mouth watering ... relax in one of Lombardy's most beautiful squares, sit down and wait for one of the delicious treats, enough to satisfy any sweet tooth! In terms of price ... well, remember that you're in the centre of Bergamo. But it's worth it!
A true trattoria, run by an Italian family that creates an atmosphere of friendliness and familiarity. They offer friendly service that is quick. If booked in advance, it can accommodate approximately 30 people. The price is good, also. Around there are several attractions to visit in the Upper Town. I recommend the beef with polenta and Casoncelli.
