This restaurant and bar is located on the hill of Castel San Pietro, to the east of Verona, and is still unspoiled by mass tourism. You won't be disappointed - it's the ideal place for a business lunch, a sunset dinner, or just a drink. The breathtaking view that can be enjoyed from the terrace is just incredible!
The Impero pizzeria is an excellent pizzeria in the centre of Verona. It is located in the Piazza della Signoria, a bit away from the Piazza Bra, which is more poplar with tourists. the pizzeria is very popular with locals, and also fills up with tourists enjoying the outdoor tables in the summer.
We went to Verona this summer and dined in Arena Wine Food & Coffee. This is an Italian restaurant with an outdoor terrace. The balcony is small and is next to the road, so it's not very quiet but it's okay. They have a large variety of pizzas as well as many types of pasta, chicken and more. Everything was good and the price was okay. Not in the center but is reached in 10-15 minutes walking.
It isn´t an exaggeration that Italians eat a lot of pizza. Here you can find pizza, pasta and a few other things. This lovely place is very romantic. Located next to the walls and close to Arena, the black-clad young waiters and the young customers also make this pizzeria located in the gardens a beautiful palace. The five cheese pizza and chilled prosecco were fantastic but the white chocolate truffle could have been better.
When we went to this cafe in Verona we didn't know it was a franchise; later we were informed that there are several in Italy. The Verona branch is a large place that seemed a bit empty. We liked the variety of products they offer, and the long opening hours - you can go for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The food and service are good, and the prices are what you'd expect from this touristy area.
La Pecora Nera is a very nice spot right next to the Church of San Zeno that's perfect for coffee in the morning, lunches and snacks during the day, and drinks in the evening. They have an excellent wine list and glasses are served with olives and chips with dip. All topped off with great music!
You have about a 10-minute drive if you're staying in the center of Verona. They have several rooms. I recommend staying at the "Grotta" a natural stone cave. I booked through the website. The food is really good - we ordered cheese, pasta and meat, and nougat semifreddo dessert. The waitresses were very nice, and were trying to speak Spanish. It's worth going.
If you don't want to spend too much money, or just want a pizza instead of a real restaurant meal, then this pizzeria on the Piazza San Zeno is a great choice. It stands to the left to the church, along the tree-lined avenue, among other restaurants. Simple, genuine cuisine, an informal atmosphere, good prices ... the perfect destination for anyone who comes to visit the historic church, and wants some lunch while they're here.
A traditional restaurant in the centre of Verona where you're guaranteed a good meal. The environment is warm and cozy with wooden decor. The symbol of the restaurant is a gold belt buckle covered with rubies, emeralds and pearls, found during excavations in the Via Trezza, and attributed to Cangrande della Scala. The menu offers simple traditional dishes. I tried the bigoli with duck sauce, and amarone risotto. They also offer pasta, beans, and cod served with polenta.
I came across RETRObar was I was just walking through the streets of Verona. I checked out the menu and saw that it was mainly vegetarian and Italian food. I decided to get their homemade ice cream shake and iced coffee, both very unique. The cafe is amazing on the inside though the terrace is pleasant as well. It's not cheap, but it's worth it. Don all with a unique twist! The home is amazing inside and it has a very cozy terrace. If you go through Verona, be sure to visit. Tip: it's not too cheap but worth it.
De Guidi is a beautiful restaurant in the outskirts of Verona. All the food is homemade, but the best is the grilled meats or maybe the desserts. The interior decor is rustic, but there's a large outdoor deck and garden area where you can have an al-fresco dinner. Moderate prices. Highly recommended.
The best cocktail bar in Verona with an impressive snack and drinks menu, from the most classic, to the truly innovative. One example is the molecular cocktails or sea flavoured. Great service, with really low prices for what they offer. Try it!
Giancarlo Perbellini has opened in the heart of a "new" place that has the indisputable merit of making you eat well and spend little. The kitchen uses the concept of tapas: small servings ordered in any quantity until you're satisfied, without complying with the starter/ main practice. The recipes are very Italian, but with the right amount of creativity. It is a nice place to have a drink, or a highly satisfying, hearty dinner.
