Cafés in Venice
Caffè Florian
(19)
This is perhaps the oldest café in the world, dating back to 1720, where countless influential Europeans sat at the tables. I was lucky enough to visit during Carnival and, although a bit pricey, it is worth it to feel transported back in time to the Golden Age of the 'Serenissima'. We went as the 'canons' dictated, I.e. with our 'Venetian' costumes on, and could not count the number of pictures we took. A unique experience. Recommended 100%

Osteria da Baco

Highly recommended for many reasons. You can taste wines, and have some delicious grilled vegetable sandwiches for only 20 € for two people. The staff are charming and friendly. The place is small, but very cozy, and has air conditioning, which is much appreciated.

In the Rialto market-square, this is a place to eat standing in the street. It serves excellent tapas, along with a varied wine list at very good prices, taking into account how expensive it is to eat in Venice. It is a very good place to stop by and rest and warm up a bit with some wine, especially in winter. Mmmmmmm!

Antica Cioccolateria

It's a kind of bar-restaurant, pretty unromantic as it is in an alley near some loading docks. There's a small terrace and they serve menus which are very well-priced for Venice, although the drinks are expensive, like everywhere. But the highlight of this wonderful place are the large selection of chocolates you can try: white chocolate with hazelnut or almonds, black chocolate, and many more. It really worth sitting even just a little while to try one of their candies!

Pasticceria Bucintoro

The bakery is located on Scaleter St., an area where there were once tradiitonal Venetian bakers. This is the last of the traditional local bakeries. All the pastries are handmade in a small kitchen located behind the counter and they're delicious. You can enjoy delicious Venetian sweets like zaleti, Fugasse, il doge bread, San Martins (you eat them during the San Martino), and the traditional Carnival candies (fritoe and crostoli of all varieties). The bakery also has a lounge with tables to sit and try all these delicacies. The staff is very friendly and helpful in recommending things to try.

Typical Italian restaurant - not pizza but Italian cuisine, homemade pasta accompanied by the freshest seafood and spectacular wine list.

Gam Gam

Great spot in the ghetto of Venice. The neighborhood and the restaurant are both must-sees. Simple, affordable, tasty and good service. They servce typical Israeli wine and beer. It's another Venice you should see, aside from the bustles of the historic district.

Bistrot de Venise
(5)
With excellent food and service, the Bistrot de Venise is perfect for a romantic rendezvous. It's not the cheapest place to dine, but worth it. We went in white truffle season and ate them with a carpaccio. I have no words to describe the tiramisu. Everything was wonderful. Dinner for two was about €150.00.

Grancaffè Quadri

[Poi = 94685] Florian [/ poi] or Quadri? It's a dilemma you have when you want to grab a coffee in the Piazza San Marco. Luckily, 2 nights after we finished our tour of Venice, we ended up in this square, so I could try both cafes. Which is better? Everyone has different tastes, but for the view, I prefer Quadri. Located under the arches of the Procuradurías Viejas, this beautiful cafe opened its doors in 1775 and was run by Giorgio Quadri. During part of the year (at least until mid-October) it has a beautiful terrace in the piazza, which is worth checking out at night, listening to the wonderful orchestra playing the classics. You can have a cocktail For almost the same price as a coffee .

Al Vecio Bragosso

This was recommended by our hotel clerk, and it was just a few steps away from the hotel. We had to reserve a table. The fish is particularly good - raw, or breaded and fried. They also offer pasta and Viennese escalope, as you'll find in most restaurants. Professional, welcoming service. The price per person is 30-35 euros with local wine.

This restaurant chain has 3 places in Venice. There's one in the Estrada Nuova near the train station. The food very good and very well-priced all things considered. Near the ferry terminal, truth is there isn't another highly recommended place to eat. Recommended 100% 1.) Zattere Zone, Dorsoduro 1414 2.) San Giacomo dall'orio Area, Santa Croce 1552 / A 3.) Trattoria Casa Mia
This trattoria is a bit difficult to find as it is located on a small street, but it's worth the search. It is a pizzeria where the food is all made to traditional recipes. The pizzas are very tasty, and I recommend trying the sardines in sauce, and especially the "bigoli", a type of pasta similar to spaghetti. At the weekend, book in advance or arrive early, as it gets very busy.

Trattoria Storica
(4)
Trattoria Storica serves up totally authentic and homemade Venetian food at a great price, something nearly impossible to find in most Venetian restaurants. The dishes are hearty and delicious, and the 12-euro menu (excluding drinks) is wonderful. In a city as expensive as Venice, it's worth seeking out!

Pizzeria Leon D'Oro
(2)
It isn´t an exaggeration that Italians eat a lot of pizza. Here you can find pizza, pasta and a few other things. This lovely place is very romantic. Located next to the walls and close to Arena, the black-clad young waiters and the young customers also make this pizzeria located in the gardens a beautiful palace. The five cheese pizza and chilled prosecco were fantastic but the white chocolate truffle could have been better.
Tapas Bars in Verona
TeodoricoRE Verona
(5)
This restaurant and bar is located on the hill of Castel San Pietro, to the east of Verona, and is still unspoiled by mass tourism. You won't be disappointed - it's the ideal place for a business lunch, a sunset dinner, or just a drink. The breathtaking view that can be enjoyed from the terrace is just incredible!
Cafés in Vicenza
Alle Colonne

In the Piazza dei Signori in Vicenza, this is the perfect place to have a quick lunch while enjoying a beautiful view of the Basilica. Divided over two floors, it's quite a busy spot, but the tables are served quickly. In good weather, I recommend sitting on the small terrace on the first floor ... alone with your dreams.

Punto E Virgola

In a city more famous for its seafood, where you eat an authentic Neapolitan pizza? Punte E Virgola is the answer! The freshness of the buffalo mozzarella is truly delicious - it reminded me of the Castel dell'Ovo in Naples, where I ate the best pizza of my life!
