This is one of the most well-known places in Utrecht. It's in the center of the city and catches your attention from the outside. Interestingly, when it was built it was the first "mall" area. Now it's a popular restaurant that doubles as a nightclub on Friday nights and Saturdays. It has two terraces, one facing front channels and another in a more intimate courtyard. It also has rooms for meetings, conferences, dinners, etc.. with spectacular views of the city. This is definitely one of my most recommended places in Utrecht whether to eat or just a drink.
Olivier Café Restaurant a recommended place in Utrecht for both drinks and dinner. The property, which is also a Belgian brewery, is built on an old church so this already makes it special. The extensive wine and beer from different origins of diverse types accompanies a large Belgian food menu, but dishes and influences from France, Holland and Germany.
Porter Preta restaurant is casual and warm. The staff were really friendly and always smiling. The food offers a varied menu and the kitchen is very well prepared. Weather permitting I recommend eating (or having dinner) on the terrace overlooking the street Jansstraat Korte. It's really peaceful.
The Kafe Belgie Utercht is well known, not only for the picturesque location, facing the canal and a small terrace, but also for their regular customers. Veterans of World War II, the occasional Dutch rocker and peculiar people. The atmosphere is pretty quiet even though in good weather many people come for a beer, especially Choof beer. Highly recomedable
