This typical Panamanian restaurant is housed in the top floor of [poi = 610801] a Fish Market [/ poi]. It's not fancy and you will not find tourists here, but their products are fresh and of the highest quality, since they come from the market itself. For lunch you have two options: 1) You can buy produce yourself in the market and give it to the cook to prepare. In this case, they will charge a small processing fee and you can order a supplementary drink and accompanying dish (fries, fried plantain, cassava, rice ). 2) You can choose any dish on the menu, which of course is fish or seafood based, but they also serve soups, pasta, and some chicken and beef fillets. We enjoyed enormous lobster tails in the market, bought for $ 5 each and had the chef grill them. We completed the meal with a la carte dishes like "spider" fries (baby squid) and a grilled sea bass fillet. The food is good and the prices are really cheap. I recommend this unique style restaurant.
Just opposite the Marriott Hotel, in the banking zone of Panama City, Beirut is considered the best Lebanese restaurant and Hindustani. I was recommended this place so we went. On the outside, the building is not too inviting, although that is changing as you approach its pleasant terrace where you can finish the meal with a shisha. The interior is very comfortable and well decorated with stone arches and multiple banks on the villages. The menu is varied, but as we had no idea what were the dishes, we decided to order the tasting menu. The menu had 8 starters (hummus, labne, mutabal, musakaa, fried kibbe, tabbouleh, falafel, cheese sambusek) and a mixed meat tray accompanied by Lebanese salad, rice with almonds or chips. Choosing this menu was a success because we had a chance to try everything in small quantities. It was all good, but there were things that I liked more than others (do not know what because I still do not know the name of each dish, I have to repeat!). The price was cheap: 88 USD for 4 people. The weekends are music and dance show live.
For a good price, you can get fresh fish and the best snorkelling in Bocas del Toro. It's also known as Cayo Coral, Kraal Cay, or even Coral Cay, depending on who you ask. Whatever it's called, visiting is a must while in Bocas del Toro, and for two very different reasons. First of all, it has a lovely restaurant, built on the sea. The menu is always fresh, not particularly expensive, and the views of the sea and the colourful houses surrounding it are wonderful. And second of all, it's surely the best snorkelling area around the archipelago. We are talking about an area of very shallow reefs (three feet deep), with calm waters and impressive visibility. Even on a cloudy day the view of the reef is almost surreal, though the marine life is not particularly abundant. A visit should combine point one and point two. That is, you order your catch of the day in the restaurant, and while they are preparing it for you, you use the free time to snorkel and explore the reef. The Pure Life!
Tapas menu in front of the Cathedral of Panama City. The amazing Café René's menus changes everyday, consisting of various dishes small portions. The food also surprised me: The mixture of influences (Panamanian, Spanish, French) was super interesting. We went to dinner, but it's also good for lunch, especially with its beautiful terrace overlooking the Panama Cathedral. A highly recommended place!
Tavern 21 is probably the most popular restaurant in Panama that's visited by Spanish people. Also known as "Casa Hilario" (the name the owner gave it), this restaurant offers typical Spanish and Asturian dishes, with their specialties being paella, roast pork, and a wide variety of tapas. And of course there's Spanish tortilla, Galician octopus, manchego cheese, and good ham with bread and tomato. They also have Madrid-style tripe, Andalusian gazpacho, or a steak with goat cheese. Don't forget to order it with a typical house sangria. The restaurant has 4 rooms: The outdoor terrace, located on the busy Via Argentina with park views. - The bar, where everyone follows the Spanish football teams and other sporting events. - The dining room, decorated in a traditional wine cellar with brick vault. - The Tablao of 21, where every weekend taking place live flamenco shows. It also offers home delivery.
Lenos & Carbon is a Colombian restaurant chain with four restaurants in Panama City. The one I visited is located in Isla Flamenco in the Amador Causeway, one of the most chic areas of the city. The restaurant is quite large and has a terrace area, from where spectacular views of the yacht marina and the entire skyline of the capital, directly opposite, can be enjoyed. It is decorated in a rustic style with exposed brick walls, wooden beams and curious lamps with copper pots and pans. The restaurant Lenos & Carbon specializes in grilled cuisine and you can watch how they cook on the grill that is in the dining room itself. Not only are there meats (many varieties and cuts, and even imported meat) but also fish (sea bass is the most popular, served with a spectacular presentation). Among the dishes on the menu you can also find seafood and even paella and risotto. We shared a Greek salad and grilled meat, tender loin which came with salad, fried plantain (fried banana), baked potato and fried yucca. The truth is that the meat was delicious, very tender. The portions are more than generous. They tell you the weight of your cut - mine were 460 grams!. A recommended visit for carnivores.
This is a top quality restaurant with excellent staff. It serves excellent food and seafood, they have a meal of the day, and at night it becomes a lively Bar and Grill with karaoke music to suit all tastes and personal attention from the owners, both day and night. It is also complemented with a horse betting agency which is pure fun and entertainment.
In celebration of my 27th birthday number on January 22, 2012, I went to one of the country's best restaurants. Its Latin American food from Chef Navarro. I had a wonderful time with my friends and co-workers and colleagues and a few relatives. The food was excellent and so was the service. And the best part was dessert: Dulce of three coconut milk.
Since it opened it's doors in a restored old town, this place has become referred to as the best ice cream in the old town, and perhaps the best in Panama, with traditional French recipes, and a variety of intense flavors. Granclement should be visited if going to Casco. It is a hangout for locals and tourists, and is always full. I particularly love the combination of Dulce de Leche ice cream with cookies, but I can not leave out the mango sorbet and lavender ice cream, delicious!
If you want to eat dinner near the sea facing the magnificent Panama Canal, you'll have to go to this restaurant. We went to the Sthik House and it's somewhat expensive for the quality of the food that's offered, which is a shame because the service is a 9 out of 10, the best thing we ate was the meat.

How about a Sunday afternoon, after traveling to the Old town? A cold beer and something to eat, maybe fish, rice, sushi, or ceviche. All this will be an unforgettable evening in good company, with electronic or chill out background music, or the endless sound of the waves hitting the beach. You could be on this terrace all afternoon. And after, maybe a dessert? After dessert you can spend hours talking in this place that is always busy, make reservations or arrive early and enjoy!
A surprisingly place good for breakfast, lunch or a business meeting. The delicious menu has lots of variety. It has good prices and a good atmosphere. The location on Panama Pacifico is newly opened with a wonderful terrace.
Located on Avenida Justo Arosemena in the Bellavista district in Panama City, this small restaurant has a lot to offer. Real Indian food, and you have to begin by ordering a drink made of yogurt with pineapple, a delight to accompany the meal. There are many typical dishes that I was looking forward to trying, I ordered lamb balls with spices. If you like it hot, you should ask for a level 4 or 5, since level 3 leaves you wanting more spice!
Dodo's mascot is a cute white bunny. This small restaurant is in Plaza de Francia, in the Old Town of Panama will certainly attract you when you pass by. The atmosphere is very friendly, and best of all, you can eat well and cheaply, both lunch and breakfast, or snacks. They also sell artisan bread, and other products they produce themselves; a delightful place.
