We ended up eating at this restaurant on the recommendation of a lady who saw us taking pictures of all modernist buildings of the Magdalene Street. The restaurant is opposite the Mercado de la Magdalena, and though it is not very easily recognizable once inside reveals the type of food offered, it is full of cider boxes. The place is not big, decorated in rustic plan with a bar all along the right, and in front of it, a row of tables. He was full of people, but we were lucky and were able to accommodate us in one of these tables, then came the waiter to bring the menu based on typical Asturian rations, and take note of the commands. were two and ordered three portions: Scrambled eggs with turnip greens oricios (exquisite), baby squid and scallops with Cabrales (the worst of the three). The portions were huge, even the waiter recommended we ordered half portions (which is welcome), thank goodness! Because we could not finish all that food. We avoid dessert, going directly to the cafes and courtesy of the house brought us a plate with fresh strawberries (another point to thank). I don´t remember not exactly what I paid but I think it was around 20-22 € per person, including a bottle of wine, which I found very suitable. A highly recommended site, both for the exceptional treatment, for the price, quantity and quality of food.
I often go to dinner with my friends here and they don´t have varied meat pies ... The dishes are big and a good price, I love the raxo, do not know of another place to do so with this sauce that is to die for. My friends are eat scallops, marinated or cod loin (me is that I am not aware of eating fish ...). As for the staff always treated us well, only once was a mistake with the dish I ordered and the owner tried to compensate us inviting us to coffee and shot, I found a kind gesture on their part and a mistake the have any especially in a place with so many people. And as for the price it obviously depends on what you order, the menu of the day I think it costs 9 € with several dishes to choose from, and if you go a la carte dishes for you comes out a little more, I consider a site good price.
They say it's the best restaurant in Ferrol. I know of many, but this is spectacular. We ate some amazing entrees (peppers and squid) and for our second course an amazing hake. We liked the atmosphere and treatment. A restaurant 100% recommended.
A real discovery that is known only to a few locals who do not even dare to go to this little restaurant in Ferrol so as to preserve its tranquility/secret. It is located in the Malamata Military Area, just 5 minutes from Ferrol port, make a few turns through narrow streets that cross a small development to reach the restaurant. The menu has all types of seafood of the highest quality I have ever seen: barnacles, crayfish, lobster, crabs and clams. I recommend the baked Vieira - no doubt a real treat for seafood lovers.
I agree with the minube comment about ordering tripe but they also make good corns. It is a very hearth of those before and with helpful staff to meet customer needs, I recommend it to all lovers of the old style bars, if you prefer places decoration above food then forget about going to this humble site that has great food.
Apart from the heart of Ferrol, there are other good areas, for gastronomy on the outside of town. This place is in the area called New Street Caranza and it is a mandatory stop. Like tapas, is one of the places that have the best tapas place to have with the drinks. It has a variety of wines at affordable prices if you consider the quality we offer. The attention of the staff is great and are so happy that make a very nice passes. The clientele that frequents this place is most familiar. They all tend to know each other and that everyone who finds this place, usually repeated. Another of its strengths is the wide variety of rations offered to us. One that I like is the raxo with Cabrales. It is a meal that is a little tiresome but worth trying. Other dishes are grilled squid or patatas bravas. Prices ranges from 4.5 euros to 8 depending on what you want but the amount you get is very big. You have the option to order half portions. To conclude, if you ever pass by this area, do not fail to visit him except Monday which is closed for rest of the staff.
Specialty Tapas are the follow: Patatas Bravas and other things (Corns, Guts, Ear Grilled Roast Ham, cuttlefish casserole, squid ....) Since the year 1972, the Meson, on Calle del Sol, is one of the places of Ferrol and a must.
This is one of the most historic cafes in the city of Ferrol . I will venture to say that it is over 50 years old so I told my parents and other people who often go for a drink at this place. During this time he made many reforms but still keeps the charm that once characterized it. It is one of the most peaceful places to enjoy a coffee first thing in the morning or afternoon because, you do not or no, but it is truly delicious. Another of its strengths is chocolate with churros and gives much fame because of how well you prepare. Many people go to this place just to test this wonderful specialty. The prices are as affordable given that it is situated in one of the areas of the city most visited by tourists. The treatment of the staff is the best that you can find and always try to make you feel really at home. The decor is simple yet very attractive thanks to the colors and different materials that are used. If you ever come through this city and I want to take a good chocolate with churros in the morning.
Beach Bar on the beach Doniños. It has a terrace with great views and where the sun all day. It is protected by the wind so you can spend all day there. The beach has a big parking lot and also it is by a pine forest where walking is a pleasure.
A coffee day menu with a simple dish for 4 € and a plate of daily recommendation 5 €, includes short water or beer and drinks (apart) and bread. Dessert is a choice of sweet or coffee. The place is modern and beautiful. The waiters are attentive and the dishes for what they are worth, are great and abundance not lacking.
