The best "ensalmadas" (type of cake) of the island and therefore, of the world. It is also worth trying the "cuartos", "crespells", "robiols", ... Cafe, unequaled ice cream due to it's old fashioned making, highlights the hazelnut, or apricot. Prices can not be beaten. There is no place cheaper. An oasis in the city, an absolute must see.
I was surprised to find they had no idea that there was one in Palma de Mallorca. I was in the harbor of Palma, and had no time to go, but I had a pint on the terrace in lovely peace and quiet, which I'm sure would be full in summer.
The authentic part of Palma. We have been delighted with this area in the heart of the capital. Ideal for having a coffee or a beer with a good sandwich attached to a "crisis" price (less than 4€). We also loved the friendliness and treatment of Fernando and Alice. Cleanliness, friendliness and quality, three ingredients that are in the Picnic Minyones. Open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 7:00pm and Saturdays from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
Cala Deia has two seaside bars, one is more elevated, and the other one is right across the cove. I was in the latter and the truth is that the food was spectacular. The fish was fresher than fresh, the portions were generous, and the service was impeccable. We ate a spectacular bass and bream. An experience to repeat.
After booking a table with a view in advance for a romantic dinner, I found that we got placed in the second row next to the window by the car park. When I complained they told me that it was a window. I got up and left. Probably the place is closed, it will not be a great loss.
This is a place that you are sure to remember. It is cozy, original and exquisite. Here they serve tapas, delicious menus and excellent wines at more than affordable prices. With the chance to take home the best deli on the island. If you go to Valldemossa, you are sure to find the best experience for your senses.
In the Balearics, there are 5 Cappuccinos. I've only seen the Paseo Marítimoy location, and another one, though I can't remember where. They have special services, like Business functions that include breakfast and snacks, and they celebrate birthdays, weddings, and christenings. The music is excellent, really good chill out music. It's great to hear very nice music in the background. What can you have? Coffees, smoothies, ice creams, chocolates, etc. The service is very good, but sometimes a little slow, but hey, with so many people, it's normal!
Baisakhi is on the seafront of the city of Palma, next to the Hotel Costa Azul. Baisakhi has a traditional Indian kitchen where the owner and chef, Bhupendra Gupta, brings creativity and imagination to life. Try a unique tasting menu with multiple sauces, which varies constantly. It is possible to request the vegetarian version. We were struck by the originality of the entry, full of rose petals.
The LK Lounge is a café located opposite the beach in Puerto de Sóller. It specializes in Asian-style woks, and I especially the beef with rice option. If you like fish, I recommend the filet de gallo white wine with fresh vegetable. Most importantly, the portions are huge, the price is cheap, and this is especially true if you compare it to other places nearby. If you come in the afternoon, you can ask for cake or ice cream, but I prefer a mojito or cold sangria while listening to some chill out music.
I went to this restaurant after reading reviews on minube. And I can say that the steak tartare was awesome, I've attached a photo of the dish, but it taste better than it looks ... Fantastic harbour views. Nice try.
Located in one of the most romantic spots in Mallorca, the El Olivo (Hotel La Recidencia), is listed as one of the best restaurants in Spain. They offer a stellar menu based on international cuisine, as well as Mediterranean and Mallorcan. The food is a la carte, chef specialty, vegetarian and desserts. The dishes are accompanied by an equally impressive wine list. It's open for lunch and dinner.
It pinzell is a bar that is located in the basement of a palace in the old town. Its vault has a special warmth to the place, inviting you to spend hours and hours over a beer or a 'pa amb oli ", have a tapas and even a good gin and tonic. If you need an excuse to go to the local, every month there is a Trad Session and the occasional poetry reading. If you prefer to watch football, you can go to watch the games on TV.
It is perhaps the best bakery and bread oven in Valldemossa, with delicious potato cocas (pastry typically made and consumed in Catalonia, eastern parts of Aragon, most of Valencia, the Balearic Islands, Andorra and in French Catalonia) that make you lick your fingers, as well as empanadillas and cocarrois (stuffed breads and pastry native to Mallorca), and ensaïmades (sweet pastry made with strong flour, water, sugar, eggs, mother dough and a kind of reduced pork lard) that are also delicious. They also have a wide variety of products peasants, embutidos (generic term for Spanish sausages), wines, botifarras (a type of sausage and one of the most important dishes of the Catalan cuisine) and olive oil.
Lost under the Inca sun we found this little vegetarian restaurant, the dishes on the menu caught our attention and we decided to enter. It's the best surprise I've had in a while.
The base of their décor is wood, creating an ideal atmosphere to sample their exquisite and flavoursome dishes. The menu consisted of 3 courses and desserts, there were two dishes to choose from, curiosity got the better of us and we chose one of each, so that we could try all the dishes of that day.
The presentation of the dishes was neat and the amounts generous, but what I want to emphasize and, above all, thank is the flavour that all the ingredients had in each dish. At every bite we rediscover tastes almost forgotten, and in others we discover ones that are totally new to us, such as the wheat gluten (a vegetable protein known as the meat plant) or bulgur (a grain that comes from wheat, very similar to couscous.)
The owner has a garden where he grows in a completely organic way many of the ingredients used in their dishes and, depending on what is collected each day, prepares the menus, especially in summer.
We shouldn’t be surprised that green beans have flavour, and not only that, if not a very good flavour, or that a pear soup be attractively tasty, much less that a boiled potato becomes a delicacy you wish to repeat, but it is, today it is increasingly difficult to consume products that preserve the flavour, not to mention all their nutritional qualities, for this reason this restaurant deserves special mention because not only do they offer these pleasures for the palate, but because they also offer them at a great price.
For all this and much more, I recommend that if you pass by Inca don’t forget to go to this little taste corner, I assure you that your palate will thank you forever. Also, if you want you can buy some organic products in the small shop they have in the same restaurant.
