Chez Ma Cousine is a restaurant in the heart of Geneva where, as the caption under the name says, "eat chicken." Although we can find some other dishes, it's almost necessary to try the half roast chicken, served with potatoes and salad wedge with Caesar dressing, all very delicious and served quickly, as they have a high demand at peak times. That menu comes out to 15 per person, not counting drinks or desserts, of which I recommend the "crème brûlée catalane" and the chocolate fondant.
One of the most famous restaurants in Zurich. Formerly it was an armory and, therefore, it is surrounded by a lot of historical legends. Today, the atmosphere is great and it is the perfect place to eat something traditional, such as sausage, codilo ... they also claim to have a good variety of beers, highlighting the specialty of the house for tourists: flambéed beer. Definitely a restaurant that I would recommend to anyone visiting this Swiss city.
This is one of the most warm and welcoming places in Geneva. It is run by a Galician couple. Each of the owners has a role in the restaurant - the husband does nothing and the wife does it all. They serve an impressive ribeye steak, magnificent Galician octopus, and overall, you can spend a great night surrounded by your countrymen. It is perfect to watch Spanish league matches while enjoying a good steak.
A few km from the exit of Lausanne are the Vaud vineyards. They are next to Lake Lehman and have been declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. Here, the landscape is stunning, and strolling through this environment is one of the most pleasant experiences that you can have on a trip to Switzerland. The vineyards are arranged on terraces and are on a slope. The towns around the vineyard are beautiful, the wine culture has permeated the personality of them. Despite not being known for their wines, Swiss wines are actually of a much better quality than you may expect. Worth a try.
In Cave Valaisanne - Chalet Suisse, you can have a 100% Swiss dining experience. Decorated like its surroundings with horns and snowshoes on the wall, it is a Alpine refuge in the Alps serving cheese or meat fondues. This is a more than suitable place to enjoy entirely authentic cuisine. I tried both dishes, and though the cheese was only alright (perhaps it needed more wine than I thought), I loved the meat. The food is made then and there for your taste. The two fondues, which are more than enough for two people, with drinks cost us about € 70. The staff, like the most in Geneva, is attentive, friendly and pretty fast. You can find cheaper places to try fondue, but this is certainly the most authentic. I recommend it, it's worth it.
The best Italian restaurant in Geneva and one of the better ones I've been to in general, at least as far as pizza goes. It's awesome! If you're in Geneva, do not hesitate to go to Da Paolo. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the owners and bartenders are very friendly (they're Italian, of course). The pasta is also delicious. I especially recommend the "4 Seasons" pizza. Good beer, good desserts, this place has it all.
This small restaurant in beautiful downtown Geneva, offers customers a wide range of typical Swiss meals (especially Fondue, four different types, the specialty of the house) with a very welcoming and good service. They also speak all sorts of languages ... Lovely! The price was half of other restaurants in the city, 26 euros per person for a fondue ... But with the guarantee of leaving the place more than happy with your decision. Highly recommended.
You can not go through Zurich and not enjoy one of the best dishes in the world here, that is almost a work of art. The cheese fondue. In this restaurant, it is better if you go with someone, so its not too much.
This is an Italian restaurant situated a few meters from Lake Zurich. Not bad and the prices are affordable considering you are eating in the financial capital of Switzerland. The pasta is pretty good and better when you are eating under good weather on a terrace, although they tend to put the tables very close together and you end up dating to someone so close. It is still recommendable.
Gelatomania is a small place just behind the main road besides Lake Léman, in Geneva, close to the main tourist point of the city, the Jet d'Eau. In this small room you can enjoy a tasty ice cream. There are lots of typical flavors ranging from chocolate, chai tea, green tea or a blend of kiwi with apple, and you can find the usual flavors of ice cream shops and every week they change the options or add something new. You can decide whether to buy a tub, a cone or take home a pint or a quart of ice cream. They offer all of these options to their customers.
Arriving at lunchtime, we decided to stop at this brewery-restaurant for a drink. Once inside, we saw the huge deposits of beer they had, and that right there is where they elaborated their own Christmas beer. The menu for lunch is varied. They have a large living room or you can go out to the terrace and enjoy the lake, if time allows.
Boréal Coffee is a special cafe, tiny but cozy, with everything from students with highlighters, workers, families with children, etc. and is very close to the shopping street (Rue de la Confédération, called the Golden Cross). My favorite smoothie is the white chocolate Oreo. Riquísimo! There's another Boréal Coffee in the Cornavin area, you can't sit inside but it serves coffee to go.
The Le 45 Restaurant is in the Swiss Majestic Hotel, right next to the train station of Montreux. Just on the other side of the restaurant is Lake Geneva. The terrace is a fantastic place to take in the sunset, watching the sun go down through the terrace's huge windows while waiting for your food to arrive . They have a huge variety of dishes to choose from. The presentation is very attractive and the food itself is very good, we particularly liked a mustard tartar sauce, though it was a bit spicy. Do not forget to let them know if you have a delicate palate. The waiters treated us very well and had no problem speaking with us or giving us menus in English. In short, this is a great place for its beautiful sunset, the waiters ve treated us fabulously, and a lovely dinner. A perfect place to dine with friends, for its atmosphere and charm.

The restaurant is great to have something on its beautiful terrace and watching the sunset, or watch the sun goes down while waiting for your food to arrive through its huge windows. Right in the Flon neighborhood is this young and modern restaurant. When there is good weather, they open up the terrace and create a very cozy atmosphere. Noted for its fusion cuisine and original presentation of the dishes, like as salad in a jar to be removed. Furthermore, the dishes are delicious and you can have a most enjoyable dinner. When it's getting late, the atmosphere is tending towards a more "night life", with music and with more of a cocktail bar atmosphere than restaurant. Its very nice!
La Boucherie (The Butcher in Spanish) is a restaurant that specializes in veal near the Mont-Blanc. Menus or generally affordable for what is normal in Geneva (25CHF without drinks) like the steak with sauce, served with chips and salad. The place is strange, as it looks to combine the aesthetics of an elegant restaurant with the family of one chain, so the result is strange, but the deal is very good and the food is not bad, the meat is high quality. Surely there will be better places to enjoy a steak, but this is one of the few to suit all budgets.
It is a busy restaurant in the city, in the commercial center, leaving the Via Roma towards the lake,it is in a small square with a church. If you can't find it ask, and now I can not find the address. There are tables on the terrace, an area covered with glass, and a tiny bar with a few tables more. I recommend the pizzas, very thin, large and scrumptious, the escalope Milanese as usual, see how they like it in Lugano, in northern Italy, and chocolate truffle doesn' come close to those of Rome. It is a place to recommend for its atmosphere, and especially the pizzas. Price normal.
In the historic center of Geneva, at the top, is one of the best places in town to enjoy one of the country's dishes: cheese fondue. This is what we were recommended to do, and it was not a mistake. The place is spectacular. You have to go early (and by ¨early¨ I mean before 20h) if you want to to have a place without reservation. But the fondue is spectacular. You can order it alone or accompanied by a kind of ham and potatoes (highly recommend both). Not cheap, but the quality of the product is worth it. You will always remember your dinner.
This restaurant should be a must for anyone visiting Lugano. At least I enjoyed it. It's a 15 minute walk to the lake, through the park. It offers a good variety of Mediterranean and Lombard cuisine, which is a must in the Italian Swiss area. The atmosphere is perfect and the waiters are very kind. But the food, I tried a risotto that surely has become part of the pantheon of rice. It was excellent. The homemade desserts were also wonderful.
