Sculptor Rodolfo Candelaria is dedicated to the ladies market. It was commissioned by the City of Palafrugell and was opened on August 14, 2009. This bronze sculpture is opposite the meat market. He was a North American artist who lived in Palafrugell for over 35 years.
Lost in the intersection of two streets (the Ample and the Font) is a small square with the XIX century Farol Fountain which has been classed as a heritage property. Popularly known as the Old Fountain, it was fed by an underground well which also supplies water to the old laundry. It's mounted on a stone pedestal step.
The sculpture, dedicated to the architect Josep Pratmarsó, is in the alley separating church and market. Is the work of artist Magda Martí. Josep Pratmarsó i Parera (1913-1985), did many projects on the Costa Brava, specializing in houses, and most of his works are in the Archive of the College of Architects of the Demarcation of Gerona.
