Historical Monuments in Isla de Pascua
Moais of Easter Island
(16)
I was born in Chile but have lived more than half my life in Spain. So, on one of my trips to Chile, I decided to finally explore this island. I didn't like the comment made by a journalist about it in a TV talk show for four moai ... not worth it! Yes, he did. On the island, you see pure nature, with the hand of man (now) still has not managed to destroy or change the lifestyle of the natives, who accept the "outsider", but kept away from their lives. I loved the way of life that seems primitive, but it is not. There is a school and the opportunity to continue education in the continent, but this information can be found on wikipedia. I loved the people, the landscape, and I took care not to contaminate "their" island. Here you have some of the pictures I took. A greeting. Ana Maria

Valparaiso Port

Valparaiso appears in my mind as if in a novel written by Isabella Allende. It appears as the vertiginous stairs described so well by Neruda in his poems. That is Valparaíso, everything seems to fall apart when viewed from the harbor. A range open to the view in which the houses are not hidden one after another, but overlap in scale of their height. All of the shops in Valparaiso have an air of decadence and, at the same time, romantic memories. I thought it was a snake that was ravaging the land and made it seem to the hostel where we slept, as the least safe of places.

There aren't many places where the sunrise is truly unforgettable, where the vastness of the horizon makes you feel so small. Sunrises are beautiful anywhere but here it's really spectacular. The combination of colors, the sea and the statues that provide a share of history and mysticism. The sunrise here is unique and is a must in Easter Island. You have to rent a van for about $75 a day, get up early and enjoy this wonderful experience that nature gives us :)

Reñaca Beach
(42)
Reñaca is a resort with a beach several kilometers long, in Viña del Mar, the Valparaíso Region of Chile. It's located near the mouth of the estuary with the same name. This central coast of Chile is known to be a major shopping and entertainment center, where there is a lively nightlife on weekends, especially during the summer months. The local people in the surrounding neighborhoods are usually mid to upper class. The area has excellent hotels, dining, shopping and tourist activities.

Flower Clock
(29)
The Flower Clock is a "gardenized" clock that can be found at the foot of Castle Hill, which is across from the Caleta Abarca resort, in Viña del Mar. This area is beautifully maintained, as is much of the city, which is something that really stands out about it. It's by a sea vineyard and take good care maintaining its green areas, beaches and general cleanliness of the city, the perfect been operated clock mechanism time handing every passerby who goes through this important intersection.

Casa de Isla Negra (Pablo Neruda's Home)
(10)
I had the opportunity to see the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda's house. It faces the sea and it was here where he wrote many of his poems by the charm of the sea, no doubt. The house is on black island. Against a white sand beach and in some areas it can be a bit rocky. Now this house has been converted into a museum where you can go and admire each object inside that Pablo Neruda acquired in his travels or as gifts. The house is full of curious things from the bathroom to its beautiful yard.
Beaches in Isla de Pascua
Anakena Beach
(12)
It is one of only 3 beaches on the island and what resembles the beaches of Polynesia the most. The water is clear, calm, and warm. It is the ideal place to spend a tranquil time before continuing with tours. By the way, don´t forget to take the photo of the moai background tending at sea. It's amazing.

Rano Kau Volcano
(10)
Once a year, at the beginning of fall between August and October, the chiefs, warriors, and priests lead the entire island to the peak of Rano-Kao, the Oronogo ceremonial grounds, to celebrate Tangata-Manu (self-affirmation) and the god Make-Make (Easter Island's principal deity). This, however, happened many years ago. Today, the island lives on tourism, agriculture, and fishing. Aside from the famous statues, the "moais," and the Anakena beach, Easter Island has a noble culture and some of the world's most well-preserved natural areas. This is the case of the Rano Kao volcano near Hanga Roa, the island's only settlement. If you visit early in the morning, you'll have a vast, endless view all to yourself. If you wait a few hours more (and with a little luck), you'll see how the low-hanging clouds start rolling in and slide of the edges of the crater, creating a scene both eerie and beautiful.

Open-air Museum
(13)
A part of Cerro Bellavista has been dubbed the Open Air Museum because of the the number of murals painted all over. Valpo is like a museum that breathes urban culture: there is graffiti everywhere. There are murals on the hills near the city´s entrance that grab your attention as soon as you arrive and without all of them, this city would not be what it is!

Rano Raraku
(7)
Easter Island is a volcanic island. One of its volcanoes, maybe the most famous, is the Rano Raraku. Its fame is well deserved and for good reason: The "pool" from which the stone was removed, and actually carved right there, are about a thousand "moai" that are scattered throughout the island. This picture was taken on the same slope of Rano Raraku, which is where the greatest concentration of moai can be found in one specific zone.

Concon Dunes

This is an awesome place to visit, it's ideal for people who are looking for a family setting, or just somewhere to go with friends to see the amazing views and where you can see all aridity of the dunes mixed with the deep blue sea .. All this in one place, there is also the quiet of this place you can relax. It's really amazing to be there ...

This beach is off the beaten path, a hidden gem, a sheltered inlet beach 45 minutes from the city of Valparaiso and Vina del Mar, Chile. It was a gorgeous, sunny day with a beautiful sunset.

Orongo ceremonial Center
(5)
This is a ceremonial center, situated on top of the Rano Kau volcano, next to the crater. Within this open-air museum you can see old stone houses, petroglyphs, three rocky islets in the sea and the lake of Rano Kao. The entrance fee is 5000 pesos and this also permits you to enter the moai quarry, known as Rano Raraku. It is a few kilometers away from Hanga Roa, and although almost we all jumped on a 4x4 for a gravel road, there is a path that leads to the top that you can walk on.
