The cascade of Hedgehog is a beautiful walk to go on with friends or family. The walkways are well marked and are safe. It's of course a good idea to go with suitable footwear. The landscape is varied, alternating between waterfalls and streams. It may take a couple of hours, and you can picnic along the waterfall easily.
I would like tell you about the rates of the visit to the citadel. Admission is € 7.80, but with it you can go to all the museums during the day. Also, you can go back to the city and then return to the citadel without any problem. It has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
In these rooms, you can find all the regional specialties, like the traditional toys in the salon and the craftsmen that make them. But my favorite room is the Franche-Comte dining room. There is a small table with comments and real-life stories that are very interesting.
If you are looking for the Plaza of the Revolution be aware that the locals do not know it by that official name. Ask in the market if you want to learn more, because only a few years ago there was a covered market, which moved to behind the museum. However there is still a weekly market near this place. Therefore it is named after the market square. This place is very lively so I love going. The market is spacious. Along with the museum, the Conservatory, the market hall and cinema, there are a lot of things to do without having to go through the city centre.
This is one of those places for the exchange of friendship and meeting people. Regardless of its name it is not a station but a park where there are lots of activities for children and which organizes debates, conferences and workshops. You can hike along the Doubs, as well.
When one finds himself in one of these beautiful villages just by chance, he or she must give thanks to the luck that led him or her there. France gives you continuous corners like this. "Le Petit Vair", is the younger brother of Vair, a larger town within walking distance in kilometers and with a lot of beauty. Inside and Out "Vair le Petit" is charming with the setting afternoon sun, making long shadows and golden color staining everything.
Quiet village, like most, very well-kept and preserved, like most, with fairytale landscapes surrounding it. Here I decided to spend the night to enjoy the sunrise. PS I found three nice places to spend the night, but alas, I only slept in one ...
This church is the church of Notre Dame du Haut in Ronchamp village, France. It turns out that this church was destroyed during the Second World War under the pretense of so-called reconstruction based on a modern style that was taking place at that time. It was the mid-twentieth century and, of course, a key figure would be the wellknown Le Corbusier. Charles Edouard Jeanneret-Gris (Le Corbusier) was born in 1887 and was always ahead of his time in terms of modern architecture. It is well known that without him, along with many others, we would not see the amount of contemporary skyscrapers invading our cities. Le Corbusier never stopped designing as this church was designed by him at the end of his life. Perfectionist to the highest degree, he placed one of the most emblematic and striking architectural features in France on top of the plain of Saona. Perfect inside and outside, with curved lines, high volumes (so important to him) and a play of light and dramatic shadows. A visionary, architect, painter... that is Le Corbusier.
This museum is made up of different sections telling the story of the Resistance, as photographs, memories and objects that tell and explain the Second World War, the Nazis, the Vichy regime and the resistance of the "Franche-Comte" and the Europeans. The museum has twenty rooms and adopts an extremely sensitive position to the French resistance movement.
It is an artificial lake that extends over 367 hectares. Created in the second half of the nineteenth century by building a dam to facilitate timber floating to Paris. Every decade, the lake is emptied and some of the buildings that were submerged since its creation are visible. Today it is mainly a leisure place not far from Paris, and provides very complete facilities for tourists: water sports, restaurants, campgrounds, etc. ... For me this lake is really beautiful and it's a very nice to go on small hikes.
Les Rousses is a quiet area near the Swiss border, where the family always visit during the summer periods. When hiking I discovered beautiful landscapes of nature, especially close to the lake. It is a place where you can spend your family vacations and many young people go during the summer. It offers many activities to do.
If you are on the Champagnole road, take the time to stop in Syam. Try to go in to the village and villa by Palladio. Here you will find a beautiful landscape, beautiful homes, and Italian flair. It is a homage to music and light. The owner of the house (the castle) is very welcoming and kindly answered our questions.
It is believed that during the period that Julius Caesar conquered France, here he created a fountain and a water supply for the city, the "Vesontio" of water. However, it is not 100 per cent certain. Until the French Revolution, it was placed in the church of San Juan Bautista, which was destroyed between 1794 and 1797. It was Auguste Castan, the librarian and archaeology enthusiast who started the first excavations, and discovered the source and 8 times more Corinthian columns. This square is a historic monument by decree from July 12, 1886.
San Antonio of Nozeroy is a very quiet little church, contrary to where it is located where it is very lively. The chapel was founded in the 13th century. In this church are some beautiful embroidery, conducted by the Sisters of Annonciade. Its peculiarity is that they are made of straw hats. Also the windows are very nice and in the typical style of French craftsmanship.
