The laundry in Benissivà stopped being used years ago, only the water that runs straight to it kept it alive. This neglect is precisely the charm of the laundry house because the moss and vegetation that has invaded all around it gives you this special picture. Now it is surrounded by orange groves and mandarin trees which no longer provide water.
This beautiful valley is one of my favorite places in the entire province of Alicante. Full of charming villages, magical places, ravines, scrubland and lush vegetation, plus the people truly special. You can enjoy unique and beautiful panoramic views. I used to come to the area as a child, to buy cherries in early summer. In this fertile land of Spain, the most delicious cherries grow, you have to try them. Also, at the begining of winter, there are thousands and thousands of orange, mandarin and lemon trees. What more could you ask for!? It has cheap and good quality restaurants and lots of houses throughout the valley. A delight.
The beautiful location of this town does not leave anyone indifferent. There are a couple of good restaurants, "Ta Casa" on the road and "El Raval" within the town, both serving good food at reasonable prices. El Casino farmhouse provides accommodation. The village is very small and is within the beautiful route for walkers known as "the path of the 8 villages".
During the tour of this beautiful valley, you can enjoy the small towns located in the mountains. Its inhabitants generally work in the production of oil and the cultivation of almonds and cherries, but difficulties have led to the abandonment of some villages, such as Llombay. In addition to its rugged landscape, the valley has some surprises like the ruins of a convent near Benitaia and the remains of Benirrama and Benissili castles.
