The main attraction for visiting Madison, Wisconsin is the large University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. The University supplies jobs either directly or indirectly via students for the majority of the city. The campus is particularly popular to visit during a home Badgers football game. On football game days you will see a sea of people wearing red and white (UW-Madison colors) to support the team. Football game days are great for visits to the rest of the UW-Madison campus. From the top of Bascom hill you have a great view down State Street and of the Capital building. You can also visit the two student unions (the Memorial Union is a favorite), the historical Red Gym, and purchase ice cream that was made on campus.
