Shopping Malls in Baraboo
Tanger Outlets
We arrived at this mall by chance, returning from visiting Wisconsin Dells. We had some time left and wanted to spend it doing some shopping. It was a good choice. This was a great shopping center. it was also one of the few malls we visited that wasn't half empty. We certainly noticed how the recession had hit the United States! As the name suggests, it's an outlet mall, where clothes and accessories are sold at discount prices. The place was newly opened when we visited, and has a really nice architecture of wood and stone, so it doesn't clash with the surrounding area. It is a large establishment with 50 or 60 stores, all leading brands, some well-known in Europe like Gap, Tommy Hillfiger or Ralph Lauren, and others, the majority, whose business scope is limited to American soil. Old Navy and Rue 21, well-known brands across the Atlantic, are similar in style to our Zara. Apart from that, as already stated, everything is brand new and shiny. Prices are well below those of normal stores, except Wal-Mart, of course. It is located south of Wisconsin Dells, at an Interstate exit that connects this town with Milwaukee. If you are passing through there, I think it is worth stopping and taking a look. That's the easy part. The hard part will be leaving without buying anything ...
Nature Reserves in Baraboo
Devil's Lake State Park
Located only one hour outside of Madison, Wisconsin, Devil’s Lake State Park is a relaxing escape from busy city life. At Devil’s Lake State Park you can camp in a tent or camper van, swim in Devil’s Lake, hike in the clearly marked paths around the lake, or enjoy foods at their several stalls. Because Devil’s lake is not far from Madison, it also makes a popular day trip during the summer months. If you plan to camp there during peak season (June, July, or August) it would be best to call ahead or book a camping spot online, as the spaces can fill up quickly.
