It has very complete facilities: a restaurant, bar, conference facilities, Internet Café, two large pools LAGOONSTYLE, COMPACT OF TENNIS, BBQ areas, children's PLAYGROUND, laundry, dry cleaning service, RESORT STORE, tours. Everything you want in one place.
This description is about a very special place in the Queensland rainforest. It's just the kind of site that would be perfect for you to go on your honeymoon, for example.
There are about 8 or 9 little cottages built on columns (hard to describe, better to see the photos) in the middle of Daintree Rainforest. On the terrace you can enjoy the experience of being in the jungle, stuck in a bathtub.
Because... I mentioned that there is a tub on the terrace, right? This is thanks to Eco-lodge, for that alone would be worth the stay. But also the site offers relaxation massage packages (hydro and normal), saunas, etc.. Come on, you leave the place again. The downside of it is that fat is not exactly economical to stay here.
Perfect for families and couples looking for a break. Among the hotel's facilities: a private theater, GOLF and an area of simulation golf, gym, sauna, steam room and spa. The exclusive service hotel has parking. It also has laundry and Junior Suite rooms. -
Gilligan's is the best choice if you are staying in the northern city of Cairns, in the State of Queensland, Australia. If you want to visit the Great Barrier Reef or Diantree rainforest it is best to base yourself in Cairns for a few days and what better place than this hostel-resort which is cheap and only five minutes from downtown. The facilities are very good. You can choose rooms with 4, 6 or 8 beds which are very affordable: about 13 to 18 euros per night. The rooms are ensuite and in general all the facilities are new and well maintained. Other facilities include a nightclub, a swimming pool, bar, restaurant, telephone booths, travel agency, terrace etc. It is the best hostel I've ever stayed in, do not hesitate if you are staying in Cairns.
Hayman Island is one of the islands belonging to the archipelago of Whitesunday. These are a group of islands to the East of Australia. This island only has one hotel. Here you can go snorkeling, or take seaplane flights to see the coral reef or Whitehaven Beach. The climate in this area is tropical Australian. It is a haven to rest after traveling through Australia. You feel like you are alone on this island, which is appreciated when you need to de-connect. The island has different types of restaurants, Eastern, Italian, French, and one dedicated to seafood. You can stay in the building, which has only has three floors and is fully integrated with the environment or in a villa with direct access to the beach. I stayed on the top floor of the building with wonderful views of the pool and the sea .
Hostel YHA network of Hostelling International, is in a great location and is a newly renovated hostel, a 5 minutes walk from the train station and bus station. It´s a huge hostel, a bit too big in my opinion, but high quality, and has spectacular views from the roof. There is an awesome pool, it is very clean, it has travel agencies, a big and well equipped kitchen, probably the best choice in town.
When we arrived at Cairns Airport we notified the hotel from a phone with transport services and in 10 min they were there to pick us up. The room was perfectly cozy, there was an amazing pool, a great breakfast, a very friendly staff and a restaurant I definitely recommend. It isn´t in the center of Cairns but it was nice to rest for the night. The beach (or the reedbed with warnings of ´danger crocodiles´) is just a short stroll away and a little further along you´ll come to the center.
The West End bar! There are many bars and cocktail dens in the West End, but if you are looking for the authentic bar, don´t hesitate, Boundary Hotel is the place to go. Do not be confused by its name. Many bars in Australia are called hotels, but they are old hotels that currently only operate as bars. The Boundary offers live music every day, especially blues, and attracts mostly people from the neighborhood and local natives. The best atmosphere that can be found in Brisbane. Don´t miss it.
It is a beautiful hotel that maintains the style and tradition of the first hotels in the era of colonisation. Like most facilities outside the big cities it is still family-run. It has a great bar and restaurant on the street where, either in the pub or dining room, you can enjoy the dishes "typical" of the region. One should not expect a very elaborate kitchen. For a modest $ 45, it offers double rooms without a bath. I remember that it was good value.
Typical backpacker hostel with a disco-restaurant called The End of the World. The hostel has several services: Tours with 5% discount on all travel bookings, a large pool with barbecue, pool table, ping-pong, video TV, safe, refrigerator in every room, money exchange, Internet access high security (night watchmen), laundry rooms and air conditioning. There is a choice of en suite double, double, single and dormitory accommodation. A bed in a shared room of 4-6 beds costs U.S. $ $ 22.00. An individual room costs $ 42.00 U.S. $ / night. Double (1 bed) or Twin (2 single beds) costs $ 57.00 U.S. $ / night. Ensuite costs $ 70.00 U.S. $ / night.
If you´re looking for a place which is relatively close to the CBD of Cairns, this camp site offers really cheap and good service. It is a different kind of camp site, as it has different bungalows or cabins as they are called in Australia, and with different configurations according to the price. We stayed in a cabin without a bathroom but it had a cooker, fridge, sink, table, sofa, bed, 32 inch TV and air conditioning. The bathrooms were straight ahead as you open the door. The campground has a swimming pool, decorated like a pirate ship with a slide. It also has washers and dryers which you have to pay for but they are cheap, as well as an iron and its corresponding table (no charge.) To get to Cairns, if you have no car, you can go by bus. Opposite the entrance to the campsite there is a bus stop where two lines stop going downtown and go quite often. Highly recommended.
One block from Port Douglas Village, two blocks from Four Mile Beach, five km from the jungle. Large outdoor pool, dial-up Internet and a laundry service. Rooms have Internet access telephone line, private bathroom with shower / bath and kitchen. They are spacious and are decorated.
Like most hostels, this one enjoys a good location in the city center, but the facilities are more than good for the price you'll be paying. It has a nice pool, bungalows for about 6 people (although there are for two people) and areas where they connect to the Internet, play board games or read. The deal is exquisite. In my case, I spent the night there to connect with a tour to see Fraser Island.
While the town isn't really anything all that special, it serves as a point of departure for ferries to Fraser Island, and not much else, there are things to do like whale-watching or taking a walk through the center and port.
With plenty of bedrooms, single and doubles, and canvas huts, this complex offers a warm welcome. It has a bar with excellent food, direct access to the beach, and a swimming pool. And its location is fantastic, right in the beautiful tropical forest. In short, if you want to discover this region and its wildlife, while staying in a welcoming place, look no further!
A good place to stay in Cairns if you want to avoid the noisier places, and prefer a bit of peace and quiet. It is cleaner than some other hostels, with a variety of rooms (singles, doubles, apartments for 5...). There are showers, toilets, kitchens, swimming pool and a very nice garden. The couple who run it really are charming, always willing to help no matter what the problem. There's a bus stop in front, and it's close to the centre of Cairns.
The Rydges Gladstone Hotel is just minutes away from several major service providers. It's also less than 1 kilometer away from the port of Gladstone, which has access to Heron Island as well as the Great Barrier Reef. It offers comfortable accommodation with modern facilities with a variety of deluxe rooms and 22 executive rooms. There's a fully-equipped fitness center within walking distance, as well as major banks, city offices and places to eat. The airport is less than 10 minutes away by taxi and the harbor is a pleasant 10 minute walk from the hotel.
The FLAG KURANDA RAINFOREST RESORT hotel is located in the town of Kuranda at only thirty minutes from Cairns and it is 340 meters above the coastal areas. It is on 4 acres of tropical forest and gardens and the rooms offered have television, air conditioning and heating. The service is impeccable and very well served by the staff.
Hotel located at the heart of the Gold Coast, just opposite the beach. It has 2 outdoor swimming pools, a heated indoor pool with jacuzzi and a steam room, and a magnificent ocean view. It is perfect for those who want a relaxing holiday in the middle of a natural environment. Guests have a variety of services.
A very nice hotel, very well located and quiet, with a jacuzzi, facing the Holloways Beach. Close to small shops, near the centre of Cairns, 10-15 minutes from the esplanade. A small cafe restaurant and convenience store right beside the sea.
This is an elegantly restored building dating from the beginning of the century that has been converted into a luxury accommodation. The property offers suites in a revived environment. It's ideal for those who want a relaxing holiday in the middle of a natural environment with peace and harmony. Guests have a variety of services.
Very luxurious, spacious apartments on the Gold Coast. With a huge kitchen and very modern decor, the location is great: very close to Mermaid Beach, five minutes from Surfers Paradise and ten from the nightlife. There's a pool and spa, and lovely staff. Good quality : price ratio.
This small hotel, dating back to 1930, is a real find in Cairns, the base city if you want to visit the Great Barrier Reef. Old-style accommodation in a relaxed family atmosphere. In the lobby, there's a beautiful piano and a staircase leading upstairs to the rooms. They are exquisite, tastefully decorated, and some with sea views. There are several wicker chairs out front, where you can relax while watching the sea. At the back is a small pool and a barbecue. The cost is below the city average, but still not exactly cheap.
