    Where to stay in Austria

    Hotels in Innsbruck
    Hotel Innsbruck
Close to the border with Germany and Switzerland, Innsbruck is the capital of the popular Tyrol region. In the heart of the Austrian Alps, reaching it by car is a treat for those who like driving and sightseeing. Winding roads through towering mountains and green landscapes. Once there, Innsbruck looks gorgeous from the top of the hill. The city, much more alive at night than a Spaniard is used to finding in the rest of Europe, it is warm and cheerful. Known worldwide for ski jumping championships and for its spectacular ski slopes, it is a good place to soak up the local culture. A highly desirable city. It is not difficult to find other Spanish tourists walking the streets at dusk.

    Hotels in Salzburg
Hotel Goldener Hirsch, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Salzburg
The Goldener Hirsch is one of the best luxury hotels in Salzburg. It is located in the city centre on a very commercial pedestrian street. The decor is classic Austrian, and the rooms and bathrooms are huge and very comfy. It has a very good restaurant which you should try even if you're not a guest at the hotel. The helpful staff lives up to the hotel's rating. An interesting note I must mention is that it has hosted European nobility (Caroline of Monaco) and music stars (Placio Domingo or Von Karajan). One last thing, if you go by car, don't worry over the pedestrian street, just tell the hotel when you plan to arrive and the staff will take care of the car. They will take your baggage to your room and park the car in the garage next door. A necessary place to stay for a romantic vacation.
    Hotels in Tirol
    Alpen Hotel
An exceptional atmosphere! If you have to travel to the Alps it's well worth coming to Tyrol, and of course to this small establishment belonging to a a Spanish family who are eager to help their customers, feed them and offer extraordinary service to the last detail! We'll be back soon! Miguel and Ana
    Resorts in Bad Gastein
    Ferienclub Bellevue
This was our first time visiting at a resort outside of Spain. We have a timeshare, and it was perhaps one of the best we've been to. The apartment was really quite large and splendidly equipped. It was cleaned every day fairly scrupulously. The heated pool and Jacuzzi were phenomenal, and completed a happy stay. The only downside was that parking was a little difficult on the narrow street where the resort is located.

    Trauneralm Refuge hotel
We arrived by bus, and from there we climbed Ferleiten to the refuge. The walk took about an hour or so and is very steep. The refuge is at about 1500 meters. It's located in the Valley of Traun, in the Hohe Tauern National Park, and is owned by [poi = 561911] Hotel Lukashansl [/ poi] (this hotel has vans available for guest shuttle service). On arrival, we had lunch made by the family that runs it. A typical alpine lunch where they served wine and local beer, a variety of cheese, a dish like scrambled eggs called "Tiroler Gröstl Spiegelei mit" and a delicious chocolate dessert. It was all very delicious, honestly! But best of all were the children of the family who were singing and dancing accompanied by an accordion.
    Hotels in Salzburg
    Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron
A few minutes from the centre of Salzburg, you cannot miss a view of the lake and the famous building that staged the world-famous film The Sound of Music, which I saw countless times when I was a child. The eighteenth century mansion is now owned by an American educational institution, which provides its guests with facilities for events and sometimes works as a private guest house, where guests can enjoy 11 suites in the castle or 55 rooms in what is the Meierhof. In this Marble Hall sometimes dined Archbishop Firmian and the film maker Max Reinhardt.

    Lukashansl Hotel
The Lukashansl is a superbly located hotel. It's a family-run hotel and the family has been managing it for two centuries. The treatment is very friendly. The rooms are all different from one another due to various extensions that have been done over the years. The hotel sits at [poi = 605131] [/ poi] 1,500 meters in altitude in the Kaprun valley, which is accessible by a van available to guests.
    Hostels in Schwaz
    Gasthof Einhorn Schaller
This lovely hotel is situated near Innsbruck, in the town of Schwaz. The rooms are nice and the mattresses are comfy and large. I recommend it, whether you are going to Salzburg en route to somewhere else, or whether you want to spend a few days in the area. The breakfast is adequate without being generous and the staff are friendly. It has some terraces on each floor, you can sit and enjoy a drink after a long day exploring the area. The price is very acceptable. There is WI FI internet access and parking available. The value for money is very good. It is a family hotel so I recommend you book in advance.

    Hotel Praterstern
I was in this hotel for just one night, for a short visit to Vienna. It's on a small street, just 5 minutes walking from the train station and about 10 minutes from the city center. The room was good, pretty small, but very new and cozy with bright decor. The bathroom was also a good size and completely new. The strange thing about this hotel is the price. At first, I reserved an individual room at 29 euros, but in the end it had to be a double and the price shot up to 75 euros, more than double! I don't think these prices are warranted, even though breakfast is included. In short, small centrally located new hotel, even though it's a little strange.

An good last minute alternative when staying in Vienna is to do it with a hostel like Wombat's City Hostel. For 18 euros a night you'll sleep in an 8 person room and for 29 euros a night you can get a room for two. On weekends it costs 35. Ferienparadies Natterer See
The Ferienparadies Natterer See is a camping resort located by the picturesque Lake Natterer See, 7 km from Innsbruck, and 2.6 km from the center of Natters. It offers a variety of accommodations and access to a private lake where you can enjoy a wide variety of watersports. The lake has a water park with slides and trampolines, and also offers surfboard rentals. The campsite itself is first-class and has spotless bathrooms. The gift shop is also very cute.

    Kaerntnerhof Hotel
When I visited this hotel it wasn't to stay, it was only for lunch, so I can only speak of the impression I got, which was very good. It looked clean, well kept and the staff were very attentive. It has a sauna, swimming pool and steam room. The food was excellent. If I ever return to Austria for winter sports, this and Bruck an der Lukashansl Grossglockner would be my two clear choices for accommodation.

Austria Trend Hotel beim Theresianum Wien
It isn´t centrally located, but it doesn´t necessarily need to be in order to be comfortable and very basic and, above all, reasonably priced. The distance to the airport is only twenty minutes by taxi and you can get there via a comfortable highway. Once at the hotel, we found a quick check-in and reception service, attentive and helpful. We went up to the room, which was spacious and clean and in my case with street views of Favoritenstrasse, a busy road but quiet with several supermarkets, restaurants, and even a pharmacy across the street. Nothing was lacking. Breakfast is abundant with a variety of breads seed, grain and white breads and croissants, meats, cheeses, fruits, yogurts, cereals, jams, teas and juices. The property was recently renovated, so we found it gleaming and ready for reviewing. As we left, to the right we found the subway station Südtiroler, which brings us, after 4 stops and a change, to the center of Vienna (Stephansplatz).

    K+K Palais Hotel
S Hello everybody! I stayed at this hotel for several days in order to continue on my trip to Prague and, as always, the European hotel chain K + K did not disappoint, nor did the attentive and qualified staff. This particular hotel (in Vienna there is another called K + K Maria Theresa) is located in a quiet area of the city center close to the river. The tram stop is only 5 minutes away. The rooms are very spacious and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was complete with a variety of amenities. Plasma TV, minibar, desk, chairs ... outdoor rooms overlook a park, very quiet. The breakfast buffet is undoubtedly the best part of the hotel, not so much for its variety of options but for the presentation and quality (for example, there were a number of jams, all in small sealed glass jars, not plastic). There's a bit of everything and a good amount of fruit. I recommend the hotel 100%. Although the price can be high, there are times of year where you can find great deals. Do not hesitate to contact me with any concerns or questions about the hotel or Vienna in general.

Austria Trend Parkhotel Schönbrunn Wien hotel
This was the old house belonging to Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria, with plant trees by the entrance. Today, it is a four-star hotel with over 300 rooms. The public areas are magnificent, but the rooms are in need of improvement. We booked three spacious rooms, but there was no air conditioning or water heater, and the carpets were very old. Still, the views are just gorgeous. The subway is close by, and the breakfast is varied and delicious.

Imperial Riding School Renaissance Vienna Hotel, A Marriott Luxury & Lifestyle Hotel
Without a doubt, this is the most beautiful hotel where we've had the opportunity to stay. It's a very attractive property, with nice views of the city of Vienna. The duplex suite - "only" 250 a night - is nevertheless cheaper than the equivalent quality in many other European cities, and offers champagne and canapes, as well as time in the salon. The spa is well worth a visit, and the breakfast buffet is delicious.

    NH Collection Wien Zentrum hotel
Functional and well-priced (there are frequent promotions), a good choice if you're looking for somewhere to stay in the city of Vienna. It is located in the beautiful Mariahilferstrasse, a few steps away from the railway U3 which will take you downtown (or you can walk from the hotel, but it will take you ten minutes). The rooms are spacious and comfortable, there is a sauna at clients' disposal, and they serve a very hearty breakfast on the top floor of the hotel, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the buildings and streets of south Vienna.
