    Where to stay in Croatia

    Hotels in Pula
    Pula Youth Hostel
This is a hostel with private beach, incredible atmosphere, a beach cove only 2 meters from the hostel, and the views are wonderful, the water is crystal clear. If you visit Pula I recommend this place. It is 4 km from the bus and train, you have to go by bus. The photos are from the hostel, you can see the beach in front of the hostel prices. In high season rooms are about 15 euros per bed in 4 bed dorm room
    Hotels in Dubrovnik
    Las Ruinas hotel
Dubrovnick is full of exciting places, from the ruins found in the old part of the city that are impressive and is a city full of shops and restaurants where you can eat, although a bit expensive. Next to the ruins is the beach, which isn´t too big. The islands are also very nice, and you have a number of beaches for nudists. These trips can be arranged from the old part of town very easily. If you do not want to spend a lot of money, you can go to the hostel Villa Banana, Majis and they will pick you up from the bus station. The owners don´t speak very well but they are good people.
    Vacation Resorts in Umag
    Umag - Savudrija, Croacia
North of the Croatian province of Istria, near the border with Slovenia (where I recommend a visit to Piran) you will find Umag which is a quiet seaside village. Just a few miles away, there's the lighthouse and picturesque piers of Savudrija. We guarantee an unforgettable sunset.
    Hostels in Dubrovnik
    Kamara Dubrovnik
The Kamara Dubrovnik is completely renovated, so your stay in the city will be comfortable and enjoyable. The rooms are well-equipped, spacious, and very clean, with a private bathroom. Some rooms have large balconies overlooking the sea. The entrance is a little strange, as you have to enter an alley with stairs (don't worry - it's not a dangerous area), but as soon as you walk into reception, you'll feel at ease. Breakfast is a buffet but, at least when I was there, the kitchen made us what we wanted to order. It's 1.5 km from the walled city, about 20 minutes walk to the sea, although if you prefer, you can take the bus that stops outside the hotel. As for the price, you have to remember that Dubrovnik, like any tourist town, is very expensive. So this hotel is good value, but only if you compare it against other hotels in the city.

    Hotels in Pazin
    Kastel Hotel
This hotel is located in the beautiful village of Motovun on a hill 300 meters high, with perfect views of the region of Istria. The village is a UNESCO World heritage site. The region is known for its delicious food, including truffles, dried hams, cheeses, and pastas and other Italian influenced dishes. The hotel is the only one in the entire village, and its perfect location on the town square makes it convenient to spend a few days visiting the town and surrounding area. It is a very quiet place, and you can really relax and have a vey nice meal there. For some reason, it is not too expensive. A double room is no more than 100 euros in high season, even though it is in an exceptional place. One more reason to stay here, surrounded by the city's medieval walls, and steps from the beautiful Church of San Stefano. Care in the hotel website give prices per person per day, as is common in Croatia, which can confuse. It is a small hotel with 28 rooms and two apartments that you can rent with a group. The restaurant can be enjoyed outside on the lovely terrace or inside, always with beautiful views.
    Hotels in Zagreb
    Hotel I
This hotel was where we spent our first night of our Croatian trip. As our flight from Spain to Croatia Zagreb arrived quite late we needed a hotel in Zagreb just to sleep, eat breakfast and leave the next morning, without even visiting any of the capital, Zagreb. With that idea, I wanted a hotel in the center of Zagreb, something practical and affordable. With these conditions and assumptions, this hotel is better than good. The hotel is far from the center of Zagreb, located in a quiet residential area, close to Zagreb Fair, it is close to major roads and highways and should be relatively easy to find coming from Pleso airport. Yes, we arrived at night and we did find it quite difficult, because you have to drive in a zone with very long, wide avenue and is easy to make a mistake. By day I think it may not be a problem. The hotel is generally quite good, although our room had pretty old furniture, giving it a skimpy air. Breakfast is correct, a buffet without excess or fanfare, but enough. I found this hotel using the hotel search minube, since I agreed to www.destinia.com for booking and paying online. If I remember it was really cheap, we paid just over 40 € in August 2009 for a double with breakfast. In summary, a convenient hotel, a "passing" hotel for people who come to Zagreb and do not want to walk or have the hassles of getting into the center or pay a Potosi to spend a single night in the capital.

    Hotel Laguna Mediteran
Hotel Laguna Mediteran is an easy 15 minute walk away from Poreč. It's surrounded by nature and a forest of cedar and oak trees. The newly renovated hotel rooms provide a comfortable shelter after days and nights filled with lots of activity. It's a vacation your family deserves.
    Campsites in Umag
    Ladin Gaj Campsite
One of the largest campsites in Croatia, located by the sea. The campsite is lovely, very clean and cheap. But the service ... No comment. We left with the feeling that Croatian people in general are very rude, not just here, but most of the places we went to..in tourist offices, in stores ... Although I would not mind coming back. It was our first experience at a nudist camp. What surprised me was to see people with umbrellas and naked! If the clothes are not going to get you wet, why have an umbrella? Although the site is divided into 2 areas, one of which is nudist, it's all perfectly fenced off to those in the other camp, so they don't see the nudist part. There was a small private beach with stones instead of sand, like all the beaches we saw in Croatia. It was a shame we couldn't stay here too long, there were very strong storms every night, any many campsites in the centre of Europe were on flood alert (year 2002), we spent days escaping from the other campsites in the area that had suffered damage.... I've never been so scared in my life!
    Campsites in Zadar
    Auto Kamp Maestral
It is a tiny but comfortable campsite, near Zadar (Croatia). From campsites we were in Croatia, was the only one I find majos Croats, even helped us move the caravan! As we said we were the 1st Spanish people who were staying at the campsite. And they made us feel good. It had a small garden, and the end of the road was a small private beach for campers where you could enjoy beautiful sunsets. Croatia is a country I love, despite the bad road network, and the coldness of the character of its natives. At least that was our experience, of the 10 days we were visiting. Small campground in Petrcane, not far from Zadar. It has a small private beach, the owners were nice, and our experience was very good by the time we finished. We saw the sun falling on the beach which was a nice experience. Eye! The beach is stone, not sand!

    Hotel Tirena
Great three star hotel with 200 rooms. If there's something about this hotel that stands out it's its spacious rooms and long hallways. The hotel is spread out over 3 floors and a basement where they have dining areas and meeting rooms. If you want a luxury hotel this isn't the place, it's your typical three star hotel, but it's in a beautiful setting. But, this hotel has a problem, which is that out of the 200 rooms half or more give very small garden areas and narrow, so the views are null and clarity of the rooms also. If you can and you fight with the Italian request a pool view or sea view because I assure you it is worth it and the interiors are very sad. Otherwise the hotel as general assessment and taking into account the country where it is, who recently came out of a war, that whole area of the hotel were places inhabited by refugees give it a 10, but above all for their treatment, the Dubrovnik people in general is 10 people.
    Hotels in Opatija
Milenij Grand Hotel 4 Opatijska Cvijeta
The Milenij Grand Hotel 4 Opatijska is in the city of Opatija in northern Croatia right on the Gulf of Kvarner area, in the northeastern part of the Istrian Peninsula known as the Adriatic Riviera. With our room we were lucky in quotes, we had the largest on the floor but no view of the sea, just the villa next door and it was not bad because you could see a bit of the main street, but we could not see the sea. The exterior is really nice because it keeps the key features of buildings in that area, ie the villas. Its construction (though rather renovation and installation of the hotel)was in 2004, quite new and it shows.
    Hotels in Mljet
    Odisej Hotel
The Odisej is the only hotel on the island of Mljet. There is nothing special about it. Not its health centre, nor the rooms, the food nor even the price, everything is pretty standard. But it's the only hotel on the island, so on the one hand it allows you to spend a very very quiet holiday and on the other hand not far from the hotel there is a terrace open to the sea where you can see spectacular sunsets. It also has a ladder to descend directly into the sea and a swimming pool for children. From the loungers relaxation is assured. I recommend half board at the hotel, the price difference is negligible and is comfortable being on half board because there are not many dining options nearby.

    Hotels in Zadar
    24h Area Autopista Hotel
at 46km from Zadar on the motorway from Zagreb to Zadar or A1, we found this area with restaurant and hotel. It is coming out of the tunnel that crosses the rock mass. And this is the charm of the place, the mountain is the coastal boundary of the Dinaric Alps, which stretch out from the Julian Alps of Slovenia to Albania and now we come to the Croatian coast, a narrow strip of land that part of this Solid to the ocean, and the endless islands looming over. The mountain that rises next to the area remind me of Montserrat. This zone has great views from the top of the mountain on the Croatian coast. We slept in the parking lot in our motorhome, with a terrible wind coming down from the mountains to the ocean. Sometimes I thought the car was going to take off. The Facilities are clean and new. It may be a good place if you arrive late to Zadar.

    Apartments in Dubrovnik
    Apartment Antonia
Apartment Antonia is very close to the Dubrovnik walls. It's a two-room house that's very cheerful and has a great view of the old part of the city. We got there after two weeks of sleeping in shelters and we found paradise. It's really a very simple apartment and to get to it you'll have to go up a few stairs, but it's worth it. It is also very cheap and the area is very quiet which is welcome in a city like Dubrovnik which is saturated with tourists day 24 hours.

    Villa Odak
This building has six apartments of varying sizes, the largest being for five people. It has a great location, with a terrace overlooking the sea. You'll find a mini kitchen, bathroom, and terrace - no-frills, but very nice. You're 15 minutes walk from the city, 50 metres from the beach, and at a great price - in summer, two people can have the studio for just 70 euros a day.
