The Tors Hotel is in the beautiful coastal village of Lynmouth, Devon. It belongs to the same owner as the Bath Hotel which is in the lower part of town, near the sea. The village itself is within the Exmoor national park and there are plenty of activities in Lynmouth linked to the sea and nature. The Tors Hotel is more in nature and overlooks the village, you can see it from the harbor up a hill and it's in a private 7 hectare park with the best views of the town. It's a luxury hotel with a pool but not extortionate prices and is perfect for a weekend away from London, as it's a 3-hour drive it's better to spend the night. A night costs 130 pounds/room including dinner for 2 and breakfast (a little cheaper on weekdays). Superior rooms are 170 pounds and luxury suites 280. The rooms have been renovated and are very comfortable. There's an amazing restaurant overlooking the sea which has national recognition.
This old hotel eighteenth century is an institution in the village of Lynmouth. It was created at the time of tourist expansion when most people had no vacation, and mainly rich people came to enjoy the coast and the beach. The Rock House is next to the River Lyn, just before it flows into the sea. The harbourside restaurant has tables for dining outside on summer days, and part of the AA car club. Even if the weather is nice there are good views from inside the restaurant, on the Dorset coast. Prices start at 45 pounds a night for a single room, 93 double, and up to 110 for the family. Prices include breakfast. Classic decor but clean and tidy. The rooms have all you need to make coffee or tea. You are five minutes from the beach and in the center of Lynmouth, a coastal town which is very nice. From there you can discover the Exmoor National Park, the region of Somerset and Dorset. It is three hours from London by car.
