The Palacio de Luces Hotel is in what was formerly a 16th century palace. I've never stayed in it because my family lives in the village and it wouldn't make sense financially, but I have eaten there and I have spent many evenings in their gardens with a drink in my hand and the truth is that the staff and the service is great. Even their prices, despite being a 5 star quality restaurant, aren't bad for as great as it is. Now this hotel is trendy because many scenes from the series A3 "Doctor Mateo" were shot in the interiors and gardens and all the way down to the lighthouse, so there are always people on the terraces and gardens. But still, it's a quiet, calm hotel.
We spent a few days in this lovely home in Lastres. Two couples with two children had been staying at La Casona and we got what we were after, we just wanted to relax and recharge for the impending return to work. The house is very nice and has all the amenities (including a dishwasher) and it's tastefully decorated. The people are extremely nice, and the view is spectacular. We are already planning to return. The local people are lovely, like Alice, who is the friendliest person and took great care of us in Lastres. We recommend it without a doubt.
The Miramar is a two star hotel which was renovated a few years. It would probably go unnoticed were it not for its spectacular views of the sea and the Picos de Europa mountain range. It is situated in a quiet village with a busy port, and there is a semi ruined fortress on a hill. What I love most about ballasts is its location: It is set high on a cliff. The best viewpoint is one of the windows of Miramar. At sunrise or sunset, and without leaving the bed, one gets mesmerized looking, far below, at the tiny white sand beaches that dot the vast bay, the tips of wind-worn stones and salt, narrow coves where colorful boats stranded awaiting high tide to re float. The photos attached are taken from one of the higher rooms. That morning, there was a violent storm.
Our goal was to spend the night in Lastres, and we saw a hotel with good price and good review. When I was nearby I called. It turned out to be closed for holidays, and there are only 3 hotels in this town. The palace of light, secluded and expensive, Fences, and Euthymius. Good offer, but no staff and bad service, you can wait 20 minutes for them to charge you. The price a bit expensive for what it is, is that I think that abuse for having short supply. The town in October is pretty Although I had not seen a soul, it was like a ghost town. For lunch on the way down to the port is one that is eaten as always in Asturias, amazing, pretty cheap, and next to the beach. Ah! The route of Dr. Matthew is everywhere. So I did it and was disappointment. Lastres is fantastic.
