Munich War Memorial (Kriegerdenkmal)

1 review of Munich War Memorial (Kriegerdenkmal)

Memorial for the fallen

Tribute to soldiers fallen in the two world wars, with a series of crypts beneath a granite block, located opposite the old War Museum, which today are occupied by government offices. Below the block is a picture of a German soldier lying there. Erected in 1924 in honor of the 13,000 soldiers who died in the First World War. A plaque for 22,000 soldiers killed was added, 11,000 missing and 6,600 victims of bombing after WW2. This sculpture under the crypt, is not the original, the first is located in the Bavarian Army Museum in Ingolstadt since 1972
