Hostal Plaza is located in the center of Gijon, less than 200 meters from the train and bus station. The Cimadevilla neighborhood and the beach are less than 10 minutes' walk away, so the location is great. As for the rooms, they're a good size, but simply furnished and somewhat sparse. The bed was a bit soft for my taste, but bearable for one night. The bathroom is newly renovated, and the room price was about 35 € / night, on the cheap side for Gijon. There is parking on the street nearby, and the staff were friendly and attentive at all times. A good choice to sleep on the cheap.
The Hostel Roberto Frasinelli in Ribadesella (Asturias) belongs to the network of youth hostels (Youth Hostels / Hostelling International). It has cheap prices, around 18-20 euros per night for bed and breakfast. They also have full board for 6 or 7 euros more, but I do not recommend it, because the food is not very good. The best things are the building itself and where it is located. It is a late nineteenth-century mansion, completely renovated, with spacious rooms and showers. The style of these buildings looks a little colonial, not like other European buildings of the time. The private rooms are the best but, if it is full, you will have to share with other guests. However, I strongly recommend it for three reasons: The price (very cheap), service (they always treated me very well) and its location (it's on the beach in Ribadesella). To this I add that it has spectacular views.
The Casa de Aldea Ruiloba Hotel is a wonderful house made out of stone and wood. It was an old stable that was later converted into a hotel in the historic heart of Ribadesella, near the Sella River and Ardines Cave. This hotel has large, shared facilities. The house has 6 bedrooms that have all been adapted for reduced-mobility people, as well as having a comfortable area for a relaxing and quiet holiday. The area's mountainous and coastal landscape simultaneously make its location perfect to be at one with nature and the charms of that part of Asturias. If you stay at the Hotel Casa de Aldea Ruiloba, you can practice sports such as canoeing, horseback riding and quad biking.
Beautiful palace of the Arias family, the family ordered the architect Menéndez Pidal to build it and it takes you back to the time of the Indians. The building shows typical elements of this type of construction and the hotel's interior (with only 16 rooms) still retains some the original furniture of the first owners.
