Trendy, fashionable neighborhood

Christianshaven is a central district of Copenhagen, located east of the medieval town. It stands on another island so you need to cross by boat or by a large bridge to reach it. It's a trendy, fashionable place, and is quite unique. You have all the canals surrounding the island, making it seem like Amsterdam. In summer, people bring their dinner to eat at the water's edge, or better yet on a boat. On the other hand, Christiania is an independent hippy town with just under 1000 inhabitants and its own currency. Holmen, in the north of the district, is a former maritime area whose ships have been converted into a design museum.
