Church of Santa Catalina

3 reviews of Church of Santa Catalina

A very interesting building

Excellent

The church of Santa Catalina has the distinction of having a bell tower separate from the main building, and is the country's largest wooden church. The main hall is the oldest part (from the 15th century) and was built after the Hundred Years War. Years later, the tower was built a safe distance from the church since it attracts lightning during storms. In the 16th, a second hall was added to the existing ones. This is a very interesting building that you can't miss if you find yourself in the area.
