Day of the Dead celebrations in Mexico revolve around sugar skulls with your name, other decorated skulls, chopped Chinese paper flowers, and the country's most famous calavera "La Catrina," among other things. This is my recommendation: a store in the city of San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas where you can find a variety of Catrinas Calaveritas and other finely made crafts worthy of purchase. I personally became fascinated with skulls and mariachis dressed in recycled bags. Go to this store to discover the characters that have become icons of our country and are even known and identified as Mexican in other countries.
