The early history of spying

The exposure of spies is one of the temporary exhibitions at the War Museum. The archives are of course very old, because they are not going to give away any current secrets, but even so, you can learn a lot. MI6, created in 1909, is the British Secret Service which aims to protect the nation by destroying threats from terrorists and spies. Then there is the Special Operations Executive, established in 1940 after the German victory in Europe and the beginning of the Nazi occupation. It worked to try to bolster the resistance in different countries, and try to liberate the occupied nations.
