An important park
Fairmount Park is a municipal park system located in Philadelphia (United States). It is administered by the "Fairmount Park Commission". In 1876, Fairmount Park was chosen to host the World Expo, the Centennial Exposition. It is also the nation's oldest zoo, an arboretum, horticulture center of the city, the "Memorial Hall" and has dozens of statues. Is is especially known for the most important museum in the city, the Philadelphia Museum of Art which was enrolled in the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
