A golden altar

Walking through the old, colonial streets of Old Town, I found this gem with an altar made of mahogany covered with gold leaf, the subject of many legends. Among them, it is said that it was one of the few things that survived the city attack of pirate Henry Morgan in 1671, as a friar painted the altar black to not attract attention and be plundered. No one knows for sure if this legend is true, but its certainly a unique piece of Baroque art. The altar is full of detail, and worth going to the church in the Old Town tour.
