This statue of King George V (June 3, 1865 - January 20, 1936) was built by William Reid Dick (President of the Royal Society of British Sculptors from 1933 to 1938, knighted by George V in 1935) in 1947. It stands next to the House of Lords and Westminster Abbey. George V was the Emperor of India and, also the last British monarch of the House of Saxe-Coburg Gotha (He changed the name of the house to Windsor in 1917).
