An entertaining place
The "Opera House" in Quay Street is a 1,920-seat theater that hosts touring musicals, ballets, concerts and a Christmas pantomime. It opened in 1920, but closed in 1979 and was used as a bingo hall for five years. The Palace Foundation acquired it in 1984 and reopened it for use as a theater.
