The Old Wellington
The Old Wellington Inn is one of the historical places ( built in the sixteenth century) where the most important business transactions of Manchester City were held. It was the home of the birth of John Byron, one of the revolutionary British phonetics and miraculously was one of the few historic buildings that was not damaged by bombing during World War II , which destroyed most of downtown Manchester. This causes the visual characteristics of this place contrast to the modern city center. In 1948 the building was declared a monument of the city of Manchester. In addition to an excellent selection of local beers, the place is decorated with pretty taste, and were surprised by the quality of food and price, not at all crazy considering it is in the city center (a the back of the cathedral) and its architectural features and popularity. Their culinary specialties include cakes or pie, which are very famous. Likewise, the lamb is another dish to consider. If you want to eat traditional food in the heart of the British central area, in a typical building, without a doubt this is the most recommended place in Manchester.
Cafés in Manchester
Northern Quarter
This is one of the best places I was able to discover while living in Manchester. This adorable cafe is on Edge Street in the Northern Quarter. It's quite small, and it's always full because, well, I guess people just love being there as much as I do. It's so pleasant and the atmosphere is incredible, it feels like home! You can go there to have a cup of tea while you're on your computer (they have free wi-fi), or enjoy one of their toasts with an orange juice. And it was at "Home Sweet Home" that I've tasted the best Freshly Baked Chocolate Chip Cookies. They serve it to you with a glass of milk for dipping! They are delicious! It's a "must go". I hope you like.

In this charming restaurant, Home Sweet Home, you will find a marvelous and romantic atmosphere that makes for an enjoyable lunch or dinner. The food is simple yet delicious, the desserts are exquisite, and the smoothies are as well. All of this is accompanied by service that is warm and kind.

Sinclairs Oyster Bar
I think this bar is one of the best examples of those seen on TV. It is sort of a tavern with very good food where you can enjoy English delicacies enroute.

Royal Nawaab Manchester
Nawaab is the number one restaurant in Levenshulme, south of Manchester. It is located along the central axis that represents Stockport Road. It is a former cinema that was converted into Indian restaurant. Upstairs is a banquet hall, where is seems like a wedding is held every night, and below is the dining room. Here, there are no reservations: you must come and wait for the room where there are more than 200 seats, and it is always crowded. The reason lies at the end of the hall behind the furnaces where the cooks prepare more than 12 different kinds of curries, with all kinds of meat. You then carry your plate to the buffet because everything here is at will, and the quality does not suffer! Result: you will enjoy! and all for a more than reasonable price, this is a restaurant not to be missed.
Tea Rooms in Manchester
Richmond Tea Rooms
If you're passing through Manchester, you have to stop at the Richmond Tea Rooms. It's a traditional English place that has a small menu of reasonably-priced dishes, but whatever you do, make sure to save some room for the delicious cakes. They'll leave you speechless!

We got a pretty good curry and an alright meat pie here, but the dessert was sensational.
