Blue plaque routes
London's Blue Plaques date back to 1986 and London was the first city in the world to use this type of commemorative plaque to identify homes of famous personalities, etc. Their purpose is to indicate buildings and palaces where notables from the country's history lived or worked. There are over 800 plaques across London such as Oscar Wilde, Bram Stoker and Jonh Lennon.
