Almuñecar's Charming Main Drag
The Puerta del Mar Beach is Almuñecar's prettiest and most popular beach, nestled inbetween the city's trademark rock jutting out into the bay and the downtown area. It has a nice wide beach with plenty of space to throw down your towel and grab some sun.
The promenade itself is also full of Moorish-inspired fountains, chiringuitos (Spanish beach-side bars), sitting areas, and the tropical fauna typical of the region's micro-climate. It's a great place for an afternoon drink with the breeze and the palm trees.
