4 reviews of Royal Danish Theatre

Popular place

The Royal Theatre in Copenhagen is located at Kongens Nytorv Square, next to the new marina and the large store of Magasin du Nord. It opened in 1876 and is a beautiful classical building with columns and fine decorations on its facade. The theater was founded in 1748 to be a real theater and then the country's national theater. They have works of opera, classical music concerts, and the Danish royal orchestra play there, it is an institution dating back to 1448. Now there is a more recent opera that was built in 2004 that has the ministry of culture. It's a pretty popular place and I recommend you buy your tickets in advance.
