Multicultural city
The biggest, and capital city of Bulgaria, is Sofia. It has a little over a million and a half inhabitants. There are several important historic buildings and it is surrounded by good mountains for hiking. If you are travelling on a budget you can still go quiet Sofia. In a hostel or a youth hostel, one night is no more than 12 euros per night and per person. The food is influenced by Turkish, Greek, and Balkan flavors. A good restaurant with wine was 10 euros per person, and eat on the street for less than one euro. The city center is very small and can be explored on foot without problem. For more hurry, there is a efficient tram service and taxis are very cheap, for example to go to the airport leaves less than 5 euros! A bus ticket is worth 0.50 euros.
