The Pyramids

There is a monument built by the president Rafael Leonidas Trujillo here, where it marks the exact point that divides the island of Santo Domingo in half. It is said that Trujillo ordered the island be measured and then ordered the four pyramids to be built in the middle of the island. Now-a-days it´s a place to camp with tents. Since many tourists visit the place several times a year, the secretary of environment and natural resources is building a beautiful lodge with capacity for more than 70 people, which will be ready by the end of May 2009. We prefer camping because it keeps us in touch with nature.
