I’ve been here a few times and it’s always good. The waiter, who I also think is the owner, had a really peculiar way of singing the menu and is also a professional when it comes to wine.
The price-quality ratio is very good, but since they use top-level ingredients, the price is not cheap. The wine list is spectacular. I’d suggest the suckling goat with the preserved potatoes, a plate of whole-roasted suckling pig, or the lamb chops. The deserts were also pretty good.
As part of the "Cerecera", every year in Jerte there is a food festival, whereby the various restaurants concoct a special menu based on dishes made with cherries. In 2013, it took place from May 30 to July 21. I tried the Black Peak Restaurant menu of 35 € which included the following courses:-arugula salad with smoked cod accompanied by cherry and walnut vinaigrette. -Rice with seafood and saffron from La Mancha. -Shark roast with vegetables, fried garlic, chilli and cherry. -Pork cheek in red wine and cherries and chickpea humus. Amaretto-sorbet-rice pudding with cherry ice cream. Plus, bread, wine and water. They were all delicious, especially the rice salad and seafood, but also the pork cheek. I didn't try the shark as it has a very strong flavor. The rice pudding was also a little too soupy.
This inn is located in an old building that has been used as an olive oil and oil mill. Inside is the restaurant "De La Pergola"; it has beautiful views of the Sierra de Gredos, and offers elaborate haute cuisine dishes, using the best raw materials. Very good!
This Restaurant has won a number of awards and offers exquisite market cuisine based on natural ingredients from the area, giving the food an innovative style. Every year, they offer seasonal menus for example, dishes using cherries during harvest time.
