El Mirlo

This pristine beach in Tarifa offers a nice stroll on the rocks or good fishing at low tide. Afterwards, you can watch the sunset on the beach. We went to the Blackbird Restaurant. From the terrace, we watched the moon come up. The landscape is perfect and so was the dinner. The staff was really really nice.

Pachamama Tarifa
(9)
The Pachamama is a barbecue-style restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. The menu offers an extensive selection of meat, some of which is imported from Argentina. The large garden contains a swimming pool, volleyball and little huts which invite you to stay longer. At night the bar is open and there is always vibrant nightlife.

Bar Los Melli

Among the many bars you can find walking through the streets of Tarifa, there is one that you can't miss: Bar Los Melli. It's a popular place for people to meet and enjoy good tapas. I recommend going really early because it gets packed. Although the good service from the staff makes the wait worthwhile. To enjoy!

Cervecería Varadero

In Tarifa, near the fishing port, you can try local delicious fish in this brewery and chip shop where the fish goes straight from the sea to the table. The place is typical of the port, nothing fancy but very clean, with fresh fish and at a great price. The dock has a small covered terrace so you can be out of the almost always present wind on sunny days. I highly recommend ordering the marinated dogfish or the famous "anemones" chips, a delicacy of this area.

Mesón El Picoteo

If you want to eat well, then this is the best restaurant in Tarifa. Whether you order fish or meat, it's all good. Plus, they have the best "tapas". The Retinto meat (a breed of that area) is unparalleled and if you want fish, the sea bream and sole aren't farmed. It's wonderful. You have to make reservations because it's always busy. And don't forget the wonderful potato salad.

Restaurante La Posada

The Posada is right next to the City of Tarifa Hotel. The tapas here are great and the atmosphere is even better. As with many places in Cadiz, the service is excellent, it's very friendly. Oops! I regret not having taken photos of when I ate there.

Surla

Surla is a restaurant with great quality, and excellent service, and it's unique in Tarifa. They serve various dishes that are made with love! Besides their charming breakfast and lunch, you can also dine on quality sushi. I went to this place several times and it always left me surprised. So, for me, there's only this option here in beautiful Tarifa.

An Ca Curro

We saw this place on one of the main streets of downtown and were struck by the outside décor. The place was packed and we struggled to decide whether to stay or not....luckily, we decided to! The grilled asparagus and steak was delicious! A great place with good prices.

Bar El Frances

This is a great place for tapas with a variety of different dishes that are tasty. Oh and above all, very good prices! It's in the historic centre of Tarifa, just a few meters from the Castillo de Guzmán el Bueno. It serves a fusion of Andalusian and French cuisine, with very good presentation and very good service.

Lola Vinos y Tapas

This place has wonderful flamenco-inspired original décor which is highly detailed and immerses you into a typical Andalusian environment. In this setting, with a flamenco rhythm background, we tried Lola's delicious cakes first. You can have dinner in a square surrounded by traditional white houses, with some good live musice in the background. All the tapas dishes were delicious; I should make a special recommendation for the potatoes scrambled with ham and shrimp salad. A good white wine accompanied the meal, recommended by the owner. But best of all was undoubtedly the team! So friendly! Thanks guys for how well you looked after us. Ole Lola!

Bar El Pasillo

Following the recommendation of the Mellis bar on a restaurant app, we sat down at one of their tables. After a short time, we realized that the table corresponded to the adjoining bar, "Los Patios", but it was a pleasant mistake. Everything was very satisfactory, very good service, a variety of original dishes, good prices. Highly recommended.

I was last week and the service was really awful and slow. The waiters looked like completely drugs or drunks. The were kiding about the customers. They are unrespectfull. Tarifa is full of good places, this is the exception!!!

Bar Peña Cadista

You can eat very very well here. The waiter is nice and explained to us the difference between albacore and tuna. Albacore is a fish caught in Cadiz. It's very similar to tuna. Sometimes restaurants give you tuna because it's cheaper, but charge you the higher price of albacore. Very highly recommended for the treatment and "tapas". A greeting and don't forget to visit!

Bar El Pasillo

Dining out at night in Tarifa has a great atmosphere. The bar and restaurant at El Pasillo in the old part of town is a classic that has lots of seafood tapas with tuna as a staple. We went on a friend's recommendation and we weren't disappointed.

Just a few meters from the port in Jerez, this bakery has been in business for over 42 years. It owns the most bakeries in Tarifa. People come from all around the countryside in Gibraltar. If you come and you like chocolate, order the chocolate bomba, amazing!

Restaurante Puerto de Facinas
Definitely worth it for its excellent quality : price ratio! It's a bit hard to find, in the middle of an industrial estate on the outskirts of Puerto Real. We particularly enjoyed the calamari stuffed with eggs and paprika, and a magnificent prawn risotto. We ended up paying about 25 euro a head.

La Codorniz

I had been working the morning in Tarifa. On a dreary, grey, windy day, I decided to have lunch at the hotel, in the Cordoniz restaurant. In summer we spent a few days in Tarifa, and I remembered how we'd eaten really well at this restaurant, with fresh local fish. The prices were reasonable in summer, for a restaurant with a tablecloth and linen napkins. But what surprised me today was the 16 euro menu for great service and exquisite food, as well as the chance to sit by the fireplace and listen to what sounds like Gloria Estefan playing in the background.
