I have been in Begur for the last few years on holiday. They have a great range of fresh fish and awesome meat (steaks). The sides which come with the main courses are great too. They also have a great variety of wines with decent prices.
The owner is the Chef so everything is served to perfection and the staff are attentive and professional. Over all, a finger licking good experience at a very reasonable prices. If you are around that área, it's a must!
In the restaurant Casa Juanita we ate fresh fish. Everything was tasty .... But the bill was a surprise .... We spent 84 euros and ate hake and redfish, a salad and 2 anchovies ... Albariño wine, 2 desserts and coffee. The truth was that it was delicious, but we did not think we would spend so much. Good quality but not cheap.
I love this ... for itself and for the discovery of one of those "secret" places. I have a gourmet shop in Valladolid's historic heart, La Casa del Gusto [www.lacasadelgusto.com], whose unconventional spirit is reflected in this appealing Gastroboutique of Begur. Like them, we work to create and offer a cosmopolitan illusion but without neglecting quality local produce from artisans and small producers.
The Restaurant-Pizzeria Can Pol is a different place to eat peacefully after taking a swim in the coves of Begur. They have pizzas that are really tasty and at a great quality-price ratio. There's an indoor terrace where tranquility reigns.
The views at the Restaurant Hotel Vintage are beautiful. The tables face the beach so you can enjoy the sea breeze while you're eating. The dishes are very original, the thing that looks like a fried egg with fries in the picture is actually mango cream! Yummy! The prices are somewhat high, but the food is quality both in quality and design. I recommend it for a special occasion.
Aiguaclara Restaurant is inside a hotel in the beautiful 1866 Begur Mansion. It's one of the most sought after restaurants on the beautiful Costa Brava. The atmosphere is family-oriented, and is decorated with excellent Colonial furniture, which creates a hospitable climate. The food there is varied, and there's a good variety for all types of tastes and palates.
The first day at the beach we felt like having some paella, and the smell that was coming from the kitchen at La Gargola was so delicious that we went in without even thinking about the time. You'll notice that there are no problems getting in on weekdays, but if you go on a Saturday it's better to have a reservation. The set menu of the day doesn't include drinks, but without dessert it'll run you around 28 €, for which they offer you a little snack while you're waiting. For the first dish we got some mushroom croquettes and foie, as well as a really good plate of ham and tomato bread, and for the second dish we got the paella with prawns and crayfish. To wash it all down we got some sangria and some strawberries and cream for dessert. We ate very well. If we don't go back often it's only because it's not cheap.
Restaurant The pati of tapas, "tapas" if you can call it that, has dishes that I wouldn´t even call a snack at a high price. Don´t order the large jar of Sangia because they charge you a lot and it doesn´t even fill 2 glasses. Not recommended, the filled calamari, made into something sad on a big plate.
Right in the center of Begur, near the church square, is where you'll find the Cymbals Can Climent, a small restaurant with a great atmosphere and delicious food. For the first dish I had the Alaskan Salmon with wasabi cream, which was both original and delicious. For the second dish I had the filet of beef with fresh herbs cream and a wine reduction, and it was spectacular! I highly recommend it. It's quiet, and ideal for couples or small groups. They also have a large selection of wines. I especially enjoyed the Emporda, and then an Ochoa dessert wine after dessert. Great!
Located on the beach of Aiguablava, on the Costa Brava, this beachfront restaurant offers fresh seafood of the highest quality which is cooked on the grill. I had never tried grilled razor clams but they were delicious and very tender. The paella and rice with lobster is also very good. My partner ordered a coffee which was accompanied by a macaroon and truffles! Instead of vanilla ice cream, I had the raspberry and it was delicious! Some of the prices of the dishes are somewhat expensive but the quality is excellent. Try to get a table on the terrace!
The Rostel Restaurant is in an ideal location with easy access and contact with nature. This restaurant serves the freshest seafood in the region with recipes ranging from traditional to modern cuisine, it will delight any palate thanks to the unique flavors and textures. The restaurant has a covered terrace that's ideal for summer evenings.
